they don't want to invalidate all the purchases of the last 5 years, ya i would hope. like seriously, they need to be comparative with a new tier, or convertible to FULL tier 6, or they are invalidated
Ships convertible to the next tier up is canon anyway. Happens all the time in-universe. That's what retrofits are in the first place. I sure hope they allow us to retrofit our tier5 ships.
Being able to simultaneously run multiple R&D research projects in the same school was a straight-up bug. Al apologizes for the bug going out.
Not the smartest thing to apologize for...
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
Lots of old ships need love: Nebula, D'Kyr, Garumba, Aquarius, etc. We'll see some of those starting with Delta Rising.
SHIP UPGRADES WILL NOT BE TIED TO CRAFTING.
As someone who has a Fleet Nebula I'm slightly concerned, as what Cryptic sees as an improvement to the ship may not actually be one to those who fly one.
Nothing has been specifically mentioned about HOW we'd be making tier 5 ships closer to tier 6 ships, and nothing at all about the possibility of upgrading gear.
It could all depend on what a T6 ship actually is, perhaps T5 ships wouldn't need much to stay competitive.
For all we know a T6 ship would be more a T5.5 ship. Like a specialist vessel...or the equivalent of Mirror universe ships compared to prime universe variants perhaps?
I'm going to wait and see until we have conrete information here, rather than speculate I think.
Once we have this, I'll then weigh the availability of new content against anything I feel has wronged me as a player, and THEN decide whether to sharpen my pitchfork and join the "march".
I can however empathise with the PvP crowd, for whom these changes ARE going to be a kick in the teeth no matter how you dress it. I just count myself fortunate not to be into STO PvP.
I hope this means new Servers, better load balancing and get rid of the lagging we have now in certain servers. But October going to be interesting one at best. I'll look forward to it and hope they can pull it off with enough beta tester prior to its release. Otherwise more of the same.
Level 60 Admiral sounds great so this means training skills can be adjusted as well.. Splendid!
Ok so one of the reasons for raising the level cap is to deal with the power creep in the game. Well thats all fine and dandy but what happens when we hit level 60? wont power creep become an issue once more?
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

Of course, then they raise the cap to 70 and so on.
Seriously Al? REALLY? Mk14 Gear is going to fix the power creep?

No, no, no. See. You have to grind up to level 60, then you have to grind out level 14 Purple/Gold/Whatever gear. Then you have to grind the new specializations and so on. Only then does power creep begin again.
Star Trek Online Season x: The Search For More Money.
I thought that was established in this game being set in the JJVerse...

I sure hope they don't mean those in particular. These are the flagships; they should be top-of-the-line. T6 versions are almost mandatory.
Yeah, we'll have to see.

Nice to at least hear we'll get the rest of the canon ships.

Open-jacket versions of the Odyssey dress uniforms make sense at some point, as do more variants of the uniform in general.

Yes?
NPCs being balanced for lvl 60 will help freshen up the difficulty curve.
