Just did undine assault, planet killer 1 shot all of us every single time 15 or so times in a row. Everyone gave up by the time we got back it would just 1 shot most of our team in 1 go. 4 of us were escorts, 1 cruiser.
[...]If you look at elite content in any of the critter groups we've made over the last 2 years, you'll find that one-shots only occur if they're both highly telegraphed and avoidable. For example, the Undine Planet Killer attack will likely one-shot you - but given how long it takes to spin up, you have ample time to hit Evasive Maneuvers, EPTS, etc.

I don't even get 1 shotted by a lance on hive elite. Almost, but not quite. Haven't tried undine assault since the patch, but I'm sure its more a matter of players focusing too much on damage. Get a good tank cruiser captain in there with you guys with +threat everything and it shouldn't be a problem. Though I have to ask now, does aceton beam affect a planet killer?
Does anyone beside me think this is funny, even remotely?
If someone made a post and made a suggestion saying:
"Hey guys, I was thinking, they should make beam overload attacks always land a critical hit and don't drain weapon power. It would do a lot of damage but the base damage would be reduced by %25, so no problems there. Also, NPC would do this so there wouldn't be any power creep. What do you guys think?"
There would either be a flame war saying how bad of an idea it would be (with the odd few liking the idea because of their build set up), or, claim it's a troll thread. But the developers sat down and actually took this idea and said, yeah, this is cool. How?! I mean, I can only think that they have some else going on up their sleeve we don't know about, beyond that, it makes zero sense.
Cryptic is going for how to make space combat end as quickly as possible. If you're fighting something for more than 6 seconds, your doing it wrong.
Retired. I'm now in search for that perfect space anomaly.
You sick little Minnows!! P@$$Y$!!!!!! I survived 2 hits.
Your saying to yourself, no big deal he was probably in a crusier buffed out. WRONG! I was in a Fleet B'rel. Come getcha some.... Biiiiiiiaaaaccccchhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. BTW I did not curse or am I in a Breech of contract with my comment. Only if, through your intellegence and imagination did I say anything sinfull. To others its simple jibberish.
I don't have problems with the planet killers. However, I'm doing the viscous cycle a lot lately for argonite and something else is definitely different.
The goo pools seem quite buffed. Drain shields hold then one shot with their torpedo? Even with attack omega there is maybe 1 or 2 seconds to get out then blop.

Normally I have no trouble surviving a hit from a PK, but that match it was 100% crits. Nothing any of us could do, even when cloaked it shot and killed me repeatedly just moving in on it at 12km.
After all my armor, and shields my T'varo was still getting smashed for 50k crits. If it was just me I might laugh it off, but 4 of us getting one shot one after another with crits, 8-10 deaths a piece min. Thats just f*cked up. Even our Galaxy class got taken down in 3 shots, in mine i normally tank 8-10 shots in a row from it like nothing, but thats without them all being crits.
1 shot kills are what Cryptic believes are "fun" and "challenging". In the real world, it's stupid, lazy and poor design.
What do you expect? the planet killer is a dumb stupid designed static thing that floats in space. The only thing it can do is to fire something from its "mouth". Of course i agree, cryptic is not really known for making challenging and interesting enemies. We all know that.
When i first heard about the planet killers, i imagined some really big ships that actually moves, and with more abilities than just to fire a single thing from its mouth. Not just static monoliths in space. But again, cryptic didnt dissapoing me (knowing em i actually expected something stupid like the actual planet killers).
What is really funny is to see all the players trying to fight not only the planet killer, but the incredible lag and lack of weapon visuals everywhere, at the same time, trying to kill the additional undine ships that keep poping up all the time.
I must say i didnt have any problems to surive, didnt find almost any crit and my bortasqu is in a really earlier stage of build lol. I dont even have reputation, fleet or purple shields, not even MKXI xDDD (just the jem hadar mk X lol) and all my consoles and items are blue and a few of em purple. But mostly blue. I dont have maco shields or other reputation equpiment lol. The only "good" thing i have are the weapons, all purple biomolecular disruptors and torps, but thats the "maximum" quality of any item i have LOL. And still, i survived just fine. In a few times i was almost dead, but thanks to my skills piloting xD, i achieved to hold more than 30 seconds with less than 15% of heal xDDD. Any direct hit or any criticall will kill me but i had luck.
Actually i only did the undine battlezone about 4 times, but everytime i do it, i hate it more and more.
I was using my beam overload skill all the time, but meh, i noticed that the damage output of the beam overload now it is really really ridiculous. Of course, the name doesnt fit it anymore, since it is not an "overload" feature, but seriously?? who cares if it inflicts criticals all the time if the damage is nerfed to a ridiculous point??

you cant use evasive to evade the planetkiller hit.... it fires in too high rate
with a DPS group its no problem he fires 1-2 times and then its dead anyway
but with bugs ists hard
+ majority of players dotn do that much DMG and will more likely die a lot
Maybe you need to increase your shield power or something.

P.S.S. I guess anyways.
Me. I think it's amazing. Absolutely full on 100% laugh out loud funny and entertaining. The Hawk post makes it 200% funnier.
Just classic classic Cryptic here.

You cant cross heal DEAD players.
