Suggestion: Could we have some Advanced Research Level alts?

The Advenced Research Vessel (Nebula/Magellen classes) has some sroely underutilized potential for alternate layouts given the current trend of designing cross-class and/or flight-deck versions of other classes. I mean, come on! The Nebula (and the Magellen) are the only ships in the game that come whith what are supposed to be swappable multi-mission pods! They should be a natural choice when it comes to varient player models.

Of course there would be the usual Mirror Universe varriant (swapping some Science and Engineering slots and perhaps coming with a more tactically oriented free console, such as a 360* arc Torpedo Phallanx mountable on any Advanced Research Vessel...)

And then there's the fact that the Nebula is a natural for having not just a flight-deck, but an actual two hanger carrier pod variant, perhaps finally giving us access to the Federation's Valkerie Class Fighters as the default hangar pets! Naturally, not being a dedicated supercarrier, the Nebula Carrier wouldn't be able to carry the oversized hanger pets that some of the more specialized carriers come with, but it would still be a nice edition to the Nebula's options... :D

And finally, the great and terrible Nebula Dreadnaught, turning this versitile vessel more fully into a heavy cruiser and replacing the mission pod with a top-mounted Dual Phaser Lance!

Heck, I'd even accept a pack of alternate Pod Skins for use in the Ship Tailor. Want to sport the disc shaped sensor pod of the U.S.S. Pheonix? Go right ahead! Want to tote a Hosptial or Colony Pod? Why not? Want to pimp your ride with a pair of mini necelles? Go for it! Diplomatic Embassy pods? Hey, strut your stuff!

Really, the ideas are endless (and the one i really hope gets used is the carrier variant :D )

The mirror ships do not include special consoles that's still a store-thing. Besides the fact that sci ships in general need a buff (sec. deflector anybody?) the nebula is fine as it is. Alternate skins would be appreciated since the 2 it has are rather lacking (really now, the friggin heavy ecsort, assault crusier and patrol escort all have 5 skins by now).

We really don't need antoher borderline useless gimmick slapped on to an already existing ship.

Well, even without the extra console, a mirror version would be appreciated simply for the consol slot swap between Engineering and Science. Sure I have the Fleet Advance Research Vessel Retrofit, which arguably has the advantage of both normal and the proposed Mirror version on top of having a better hull, but I still have my old Plain Jane Nebula as well, and would like its counterpart to add to my Nebula collection... :D

I really do think that a "Carrier Pod" Nebula would make a fine addition to the small list of Federation carriers. Would it be a better carrier than the Atrox? Probably not, but half the point is to have a two hangar carrier that looks like it was built by Star Fleet and not just donated from a member world's defense force. That, and I'd love to see what the designers would do for the pod skin!

While I don't mind that other Federation ships are getting extra skins (heck, the Patrol Escort finally got a skin I actually liked in the Tempest Class!), the Nebula with its supposedly swappable multi-mission pod was practically made for alternate skins! Even if mostly for the pod itself.

Personally, I think a Nebula skin sporting the alternating dark and light hull sections that seem to be common in more recent skin designs would look very nice indeed...
