i don't know if you realize this or not cryptic, but you have a massive "fan" base of people who WANT to pvp.

PVP as it is right now sucks. there is no reason to spend real life cash on any of my builds because, well, seriously, there is no reason to PVP.

You have offered everything in the game to a PVE'er, no problem.I am not talking about that being your fix....

You HAVE released PVP modifiers for gear in the excellent new crafting system.

I am talking about why don't we get some new maps? How about some better maps like Kerrat with open PVP/PVE content?

How about a leaderboard, the boasters can boast about.

You have an excellent game here for group PVE content, why not reign in the rest of the Fan base, who has left, or got disappointed in past season launches, with a fix for PVP?

When season 8 OR 9 launched, you gave out stats of people who played, how many ships we all have ETC.... You could quadruple that, and your base amount of real life money you recieve from players, because you would give us a different form of end game content, we can brag about to people.

Your only course of action in not just my eyes, but ALOT of players i talk to in game, is a fix for PVP, because it sucks. Look at the pvp forums, compared to everything else.

Alot of my fleet members complain about how PVP sucks, alot of people have left the game, because PVP sucks.

Fixing PVP, with a leaderboard, and a reward, on par with doing Borg STFS would go a long way to increasing the player base.

You want a reason for people to start spending more money, the only LOGICAL idea is FIX PVP.

You want to go nuts? get ALOT more players into this game spending money?

Make a KDF, Romulan, FED vs, Dominion, Delta Quadrent species war. With Cardassians, Jem Hadar, and a few of the popular spieces from the delta quadrent as playable races in a new faction.

Give them all new ships to compensate for the Bug and Galor ships, and do not give them to the new "dominion" faction as any form of different purchase, so the packs, and boxes still have an economic drive.

you could, as an example "retrofit" the bug ship in the lock box, to have another science console slot. And only put a bug ship at level 30, like the Dederix. Same thing with the Galor.

And in one shot, release your "metric ton" of ships as a new tier (6) of ships with 11 consoles slots.

Releasing anything with the intent of only "fleet admiral" being able to purchases it, is stupid because everyone will just leave a fleet to make their own, to purchase the ship.

Another idea is, At some point in the story line, make the cloned Jem hadar suffer a disease, and never release the bug ship again :P.

Down the line, because we already have a "romulan" ( technically) lockbox, you can create a"Klingon" and "New Faction" lockbox too..... or have a really annpoying re-release with better stuff in the cardassian lockbox, like kits ATC to explain why everyone can have a galor.

Put "retrofit" cross faction ships in the three lockboxes for the factions.... Escorts in the boxes, Crusiers in the lobi store, and there you go, you have a way out of that part of the dealio :P

But getting off topic here...... ( i said all that as a fricken hint cryptic)

All that being said, i could tell you, as a long time star trek fan, and long time fan of this game, albiet, the issues it does have you guys HAVE done a wonderful job fixing the Issues created by Atari's bad code.

Give us a REAL legitimate reason to PVP. Give us a PVP fix. I told you how, you can do it, writing it into a new faction. I will hope you guys like dollar signs, and see the potential now in the game, if only you FIX pvp.

PVP isnt NOT dead, alot of people do it all the time. It is just not something that interesting to talk about, and we cannot show anything for doing it... like gear, or a death/kill ratio.

Nor is there any reason to spend money on something, to PVP.

Oh and a re-release of the red-matter capacitor, i wont be spending 120 bucks on the collectors edition, when i can go lifer for 200 :D

Please take into consideration this idea, everything is there, you just need to implement it in some form! Thank you!

Hey man, Give me a reason to take the time to kick yer TRIBBLE, i am not a mean guy, if you get my drift.

Whats the point of "Killerclown" knowing my name? If he has beat me or i have beat him?

Alot of people are, inevitable TRIBBLE talking skins of monkey bones, and i for one want a reason to do that, and a visual back up... not cronies saying who is who and what is what, i want the evidence right there so all can see, i kicked "killerclowns" butt.

i mean seriously, who cares about 2 manning a NWS? We all seen/heard fricken Branflakes 1 man the damn thing. So its possible YIPEEE big deal. Did they get an accolade for it?

No they put a video on youtube, with proof that they did, there you go. and from the game, for doing this hard TRIBBLE task, they got a reward, of 300 or so fleet marks.

The youtube Video was their only "proof" they did what they did. Did they get a reward for doing that besides? Yes, the "knowledge" they did that, sure.

Who the heck is gonna care a month from now?

My prime example. No proof, i kicked "killerclowns" butt in PVP a day later, we already forgot each others names.... Because we do, do other things too.

Let PvP die. The complaints are killing the majority of players' efforts to play PvE in this game.

PvE is and should always be the main focus of this game. You will never fly a space station. You will never fly a borg tactical cube. You will never fly a gateway, and yet you WILL team up to take down these things. Your teamwork together fighting the NPCs is the main focus of the game and the most in-line with the spirit of Trek anyways.

PvP being utterly broken and all the constant nerfs you minority impose on the majority is why people hate PvP and why people don't play it.

Just to make things clear that you might have missunderstood:

    PvE =/= teamwork

PvE = pure dps + no teamwork

    PvP = 100% teamwork

    ps:
PvP'ers have always been the unloved Players in any big MMO - sad but true, there's no money in PvP (and too much work).

I don't understand when people complain about PvP running (nerfing stuff) PvE when I go into PvE queues and see teams finishing elite STFs in less than 3 minutes with practically no effort involved except pressing the spacebar over and over.

Heck, I got a Borg ground optional easily the other day, and I hadn't done a ground STF in more than a year.

It is the people pretending that any PvE in this game is truly challenging who make the rest of us suffer. The AI in this game is outclassed by Tecmo Super Bowl and you've got DPS ballerinas orchestrating 80k DPS runs. If you feel nerfed at all in PvE you might want to try something more suited to your skillset.

PvP has been called irrelevant by devs before, and yet somehow we wield this awesome power over the game engine. Incre

You HAVE released PVP modifiers for gear in the excellent new crafting system.

But damn if they didn't forget the blog about the functionality of those two mods - or - any dev reply on the functionality of the two mods.

    [PvP Dmg] +3% All Damage
[PvP Res] +5 All Damage Bonus Resistance Rating

Two gear mods on weapons...that do not modify any visible stats, no information on if they work at all - whether they can stack - what the goal of them was...nada, nothing, not a thing on what the intended and actual functionality of the mods are.

People saying pvper's calls for nerfs etc has any negative impact _at all_ in a game that is this brain dead easy makes me seriously wonder.

If there existed a difficulty level that catered more to an adult player I could understand. Didn't mean that to sound overly negative, if it does sorry.

As for pvp dying in this game(there is some truth to the joke about it being DOA imo), I would say organized pvp is dying. Just look at the number of pvp fleets, etc. I see it in other games as well that are making similar mistakes as this company. The people that are hardest hit by poor balancing, bugs, etc are the serious pvp crowd. They end up leaving eventually after finally saying enough is enough.

In the end, the solid majority of what is left is casual puggers that don't take pvp seriously enough to care how much manure is shoveled in their direction.

That seemed to be their goal all along.

As for PVP, it needs matchmaking that puts players of roughly equal power against each other. That is what it absolutely needs. A balance separate from PVE or more maps and modes and such is all good and proper, but matchmaking is what it lacks above all else.

As for challange, this is a casual game, there are a billion hardcore games out there. I do not see why Cryptic should cater only to the min-maxing crowd that finds and uses a load of exploits, and than finds the game not hard anymor.
