If there was ever a second Star Trek game, financially, could it avoid the path that this game took?
This has become quite ... you know, pay to win, grind etc.
I quite like the model that Elite: Dangerous have taken: Pay once for the game, and buy [optional] content DLC. I suppose, that is no different to STO in a manner of speaking; we 'buy' the game for free, and buy [optional] upgrade DLC . But the difference is, I suppose, is that one is buying content DLC, and the other is just paying for 'upgrades'. I don't know, but something tells me that the quality of the game would increase, but there is no guarantee that it would work, as much as I'd like it.
I just miss Star Trek: Legacy. I wish they did DLC content (not upgrades, content!).
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.
Any game can avoid this games destructive path, I remember when a player posted in the forums that he was using this model for his students as a how NOT to run a company.
LOL.
I'm thinking TF2, even they haven't and they have some mega lax financial goals!

If it were an MMO, probably not.
