Has anyone seen or heard why this weeks patch was on Tuesday instead of Thursday?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I was really looking forward to today's patch in hopes that they might fix more of the awful doff UI. Guess that is too much to ask. Or maybe they still think the forums are just pointless rants even though we have provided plenty of constructive feedback for the doff UI since the patch on Tuesday. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1175391
There isn't even a Tribble patch. This is pathetic.

Maybe the dev team is taking a few extra days to put together a REALLY AWESOME patch for next Thursday that will fix a number of existing bugs that players have been complaining about for ages and correct gameplay/UI issues that players have brought up since the season 9.5 update.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."
Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.
I was meant to stop people from slotting multiple projects from the same school to level R&D faster, forcing people to buy zen for dilithium to finish projects faster instead.
If it benefits the player it gets patched within 2 days.
if it is a bug.... it will get patched... "server connection timed out".....
meh sorrry it will get patched eventually after the adding of the super awesom-o-expansion they are working on since the last super expansion. and thus having no time to fix serious bugs... loadout... boff seats disappearing when changing ships... exchange... and everything else
It would be nice if they fix the Doff UI issue next Thursday.
I hate unchecking 50 specialization boxes just to view all my Doffs in one specific specialization (like security officer) and do all over again if I decide to choose a different Doff of the same specialization.
I need to uncheck 250 boxes when doing the Support Colony / Expansion missions because there are 5 Doff slots... and that's assuming I do not decide to change my mind on any of my selections.

Example, doff stacking exploit. Was in the game for 2 years and the original Dev that worked on the doff system knew about it. He left Cryptic and the other devs seem to have been clueless. Took some dude to put up a YouTube video a year ago about it for them to patch it in less than a week. They seem to get extra motivation to fix stuff when they see glaring proof.
Sarcasm is strong in this one, but going by the answers i take it nobody heard the actual reason for this one-time change.

They had to do an emergency patch to super nerf the R&D progression.
If they had waited a few days it only would have taken like 315 days instead of 329 to get to level 20 in an R&D school if you never missed a single daily.
Yippee!
Man we're lucky that they reacted that fast.

Pure evil. IMO

Funny how fast they change stuff like the research xp projects like its serious...
Stumped on that one myself. I don't see much of a difference between running multiple research projects in one specialization and running one research project each in multiple specializations. The net XP per project completion doesn't change, at the three projects I've unlocked it's ~18k per day regardless. Is it really that game-breaking to allow a character to specialize for a bit of a quick personalization when in the long run it's all just going to be the same anyways?
You dont need to patch something which is free of bugs. /sarcasm
Regardless the reason, another information-fail from PWE/Devs...
How is it an information fail? Smirk said on Monday they were doing it Tuesday due to needing to get fixes out and couldn't wait. If they did it then, and there was no emergency fixes that they had ready to go in why do it again?

Not everything needs to be commented on (and I'm obviously guilty of doing at this very moment!)
BUT...
* Cryptic/PWE publishes patch/release notes, makes advanced notifications about planned downtimes. Excellent business practice -- kudos to them for doing so.
* Cryptic/PWE doesn't publish their product roadmap. We aren't privvy to their publishing schedules. We're consumers; we aren't software developers who need to understand when functionality/features/bug fixes will be released, as it would impact our development work/planning.
Put simply, Tuesday, Thursday... Why? Just because.

You know that the Foundry has a major glitch right now, right? There still several major bugs yet to be fixed, like the UI toolbar bugs. And the new DOFF UI still is very disliked.
Need I say more?
But hey, that can wait til after Vegas, right?

The patch was probably already, and fixing a few last minute issues that couldn't make it in the 9.5 patch, but had already been discovered. Didn't it also fix some KDF DOFF problem with the new lockbox?

Stupid me to think Cryptic cared about the Foundry to get out a fix within a week.

Attempt for humor detected. Failure, failure.
Was the failure bad enough so that it hurt?

Plus they're all going to the convention this weekend.

Vegas is next weekend, but regardless, they don't deserve to go to Vegas.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry over that comment, repetitiveepic. (But I was chuckling at taieme's post. "It was a Thuesday patch" indeed.)
I'm sure someone will mention that to them at Vegas. But hey they have to brag about how great 9.5 is and how awesome the expansion will be. :P

The new DOFF system has quite a few outstanding bugs. Does it matter whether or not people like it, when it's broken?
So why not say that instead of criticizing? :P
Besides, the DOFF bugs they introduced isn't as bad as the new UI.
