This is about which species from Trek you would like to see as a Borg. It could be from canon sources or non-canon sources.
Wouldn't it be something if the Iconians created the Borg? (I'm starting that rumor!) But an Iconian borg would be nasty mean.
Personally I would like to see a Hirogen tactical drone.
There are two notables from the Voyager series. One was a personality assumed by Seven in "Infinite Regress," and the second one was a member of the Unimatrix Zero resistance fighting against the Borg queen.
I'd say the Zakdorn, because, at least initially, the Borg were drawn to the fruits of intellectual thinking. They favored brains over brawn. Their technology gave them the brawn. And, Klingon sneering aside, the Zakdorn are feared strategists.
Second choice: Soong Android. Specifically, Lore. If Lore was tied to the collective, and given everything that Data was offered, including at least some independent thought, his influence on the hive mind would be really bad news for the galaxy.
Question: would having a species known for their physical prowess really make a difference as Borg? I suppose the critter might survive longer once the Borg technology failed (at least before adaptation), but he'd perform like a Borg otherwise, rather than a warrior of his/her/its race, yes?
Because the idea of the Borg now trying to negotiate with pacts, treaties, stipulations, arbitrators, loopholes, and other such Corporate tactics...
"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships, for we now own the patents to your technology. We will add your contracts and middle managers to our Corporation. Lawyers are futile."
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

I'd rather see the entire Collective assimilate a doomsday machine to the face. B'Vat had the right idea, just the wrong target.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

'...I can tell you that we're not in the military and that we intend no harm to the whales.' Kirk: The Voyage Home
'Starfleet is not a military organisation. Its purpose is exploration.' Picard: Peak Performance
'This is clearly a military operation. Is that what we are now? Because I thought we were explorers!' Scotty: Into Darkness
'...The Federation. Starfleet. We're not a military agency.' Scotty: Beyond
'I'm not a soldier anymore. I'm an engineer.' Miles O'Brien: Empok Nor
'...Starfleet could use you... It's a peacekeeping and humanitarian armada...' Admiral Pike: Star Trek
A bit off topic, but on the subject of borg races... why is the default drone human? The Borg are from the Delta Quadrant--shouldn't they be an amalgam of Delta quadrant races?

I think it was because it made it easier for the makeup department.
You know, the Talosians have expanded their mind control devices to include the alpha sector. fyi They are creating hallucinations all over earth and such.. this is just another public service message brought to you from borg.

Or voth in general, would be interested in an Asimmilated city ship
or a changeling borg for the ability it would give the borg. Imagine if that ability was then spread throughout the collective
On a less canonical note... Borg dragons. With assimilation breath. Particularly if said dragon was from Neverwinter.
There is a Reman Borg. Tosk of Borg - the Khitomer 'boss' - is one.
