...ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE.
Cryptic, you have taken one of STOs GREATEST features (over any other MMO), and COMPLETELY trashed it with Season 9.5.
A) the UI is bulky, its ugly, its not functional. Starting DoFF assignments is absolute hell. For one thing, the UI no longer displays information such that you can identify the mission at a glance. Now, to study an assignment, you have to go through a series of complicated icons (which usually require mouse overs to identity). Its hard to tell which assignments you can run and which you can't, since the UI no longer displays any kind of logo over missions you lack something to run. Physically starting a mission is a pain, since you often find you missed something required for the mission; at times, for some reason, the UI won't even let you run the mission despite having everything required (bug? glitch?!)
where is the recommend DoFF system? It used to be that for each position on an assignment, the UI offered a list of "suggested" officers ,from whom you could cycle through until you found the choice you wanted. Now, the game automatically assigns a doff to each position, and you have to go through a complicated pull up menu to chose an alternative officer.
C) small, convenient features of the system have been removed; most notably, the little sidebar on the Overview menu that displayed each of your newest acquired DoFFs!
As a four-year player whose main reason for sticking around so long IS the doffing system, I'm literally livid. This system has easily taken STOs greatest feature, and made it one of its worst.

Thanks.
The new interface makes Doffing 10X more click intensive. Without the filters, things that used to be simple are time intensive. Under the old way, I'd email a doff to grind to my alt. Select Recent Recruits and grind. Now I have to note the name of the doff and run through the entire menu......Assignments are the same way.
Additionally I'm trying to run "Attend Ferasan Trial by Combat" but the Begin Assignment is grayed out. At first I thought I was missing the Saurian Brandy but that is the 2nd mission.
Another poster echoed that no matter the release they could always count on Doffing...well all these clicks have taken all the fun out for me.

I will take it a step further, I hate the new crafting too, we have replaced one not fun system with another not fun system.
An interface dose not a crafting system make. That is what was wrong with the old crafting, and its what's wrong with the new crafting too.
I want the old Doff UI back, and hell, give me the old crafting back too.

Maybe it is because I saw DOFFing on Tribble, previously....the "look" of the oversized interface was not as big of a shock to me.
The changes I noticed, and appreciate, is that the "Collect reward" button actually works in the completed assignment list, now....did not have to visit "View details" every time.
The program seems to be picking better DOFFs for "Crits", too, which is nice.
(And I admit, for the DL Mine Foreman assignment, dang thing found a better DOFF than I ever found by searching manually, with the use of those filters. Who'da thunk it?)
While running one of my character through "normal" Doffing paces this morning, I have only seen fit to switch a few, here and there, "to my own tastes", so to speak.
I think DOFFing is going much FASTER because of this.
Well, along with LESS "map changes" since there is no time spent traveling (and waiting to load) into the Nebulas.

The only problem I noticed, so far is: assigning DOFFs to "Officer Exchange Program" assignments. I am trying to finish "Recruitment" ranking, so I look for those.
My goal, for now, is upgrading Greens up to Blues, and Blues up to Purples....but the program insists on send off all my Purple Doffs to Exchange. Of course, clicking "Select" brings up a list which seem to be filled with every single DOFF I own. Yikes. I just gave up looking through that list for them and decided I need to make a manual list before I try again.
If the program could be changed to list Green or Blue DOFFs with the Crit trait needed for that particular assignment....it would make it more useful.
Another thing I noticed: while traveling through Sirius Block....my Current Assignment listed "Salvage Artifacts from Archaeological Site in Hromi Sector". Seeing that Hromi Sector is over in Pi Canis...two sections away.
Later on, I saw these "Salvage Artifacts" for Kassae Sector and Mempha Sector and Hromi Sector while traveling in Regulus.
And it made me wonder if there were something getting a bit mixed up in the mission selections. OR if it is now just a free for all, where any assignment for any area can show up anywhere?
Edit: Also, wanted say: addition of "headers" separating the "Current Assignment" lists by type of mission is a major improvement over alphabetical. Now, it is easier to find "Recruitment" or "Trade" and the, now, very important, "Science" (for R&D Materials)...etc...

But they really need to fix the "know issue" by adding filters into the DOFF selection.
Overall I like the new look and being able to see how much XP you get at a glance instead of having to click on each mission.
I do miss seeing the descriptive text without having to go into a new window...but that is a minor gripe imo.

On the other hand, the new system seems to pick DOFFs that are much better than the highlighted suggested ones before, so you can pretty much now click through much faster, you just have to keep an eye out for, e.g., losing a purple officer to an exchange/execution or whatever.
I also like that you can see what you're missing much more easily at a glance - those tiny icons in the bottom right of the missions square were always a PITA. Being able to see at a glance that you're missing a security officer or a commodity is much better.
It's kind of worse from the point of view of being pro-active, and I guess if you were either into the rp aspect of it (pondering choices like a real captain) or had a bunch of systems you were used to for juggling things around, then it might not work. But I think for most players it's probably better than it was.
the last 20% of the time I ask myself "what the ****, that is the worst selections that you could have made...
