We lost a lot of purple doff with the new system

I just logged in with all my characters, and i m very happy about the new doff system.
It's changed all the running / finished mission when converted to the new system.
In every character, instead the white and green duty officers that i sent for x duty officer exchange, the new system replaced them with purple duty officers with great traits, thank you very much. Thats not all, with some character there was a mission where you lose 5 civilian doffs, instead of loosing the 5 colonist, the new system replaced them with purple diplomats and advisors. GREAT!

Supposedly, it's just a graphical issue and the same ones you sent were the ones used.

Not a graphical issue. The game will send the best civilian for the job to get the best critical success. It is just since it is a destroy doff mission must people would likely send white or greens to be butchered instead of their purples.

The auto-fill function is nice for most missions but for any that destroy doffs it is better to manually chose.

Would be nice if they moved the "Enable Officer Recommendations" check box to the left border on the doff ui so it could be toggled on or off from any of the doff sub-menus.

Yes of course, for the new missions you starting now, you need to change them.
I told this about the previsious missions, that was started before the patch at yesterday, the missions now show you sent the best purple duty officers instead of you really sent at 2 days ago.
But, its yellowalert was right, this just a display bug, and they are still on our rooster.

No no, it was a graphical issue as it only affected the missions that were in progress. Any new missions accepted would be sending the best duty officers.

Automated selections REALLY need work. It doesn't appear to take into account Success Poisoning, and it recommends the wrong doffs for missions that kill your doffs. For fatal missions, it should pick the best of the worst quality doffs you have on hand.

In all cases, it should pick the least unique doff given a choice between two equally qualified doffs, so if you have 30 of those guys and 1 of that guy, it should pick one of the 30 so as not to make the one unique guy unavailable.

yeah, that's my concern as well.

While the automatic choise of doffs got way better, the old UI was great if you wanted to choose special doffs on your own. Further: Even doffs already assigned to other slots of this assignment appear in the list. If you choose one of these, you get another empty spot you thought was already filled.

This version of the UI makes it really hard to change the automatic choice if you disagree with it. And there are quite a few times I disagree.

    i.e.

For 'Hand over contraband' I usually use a common security officer instead of a random purple or blue doff which I might need to use elsewhere.

Projects where you will lose the doffs - as was said above

Projects where you have more than one doff with similar results - as was said above

Projects where you don't have the adequate doff and have to chose a different one

    - - - - -

    There is another issue:

In the former UI the complete assignments where sorted by time - so that the oldest assignments have always been at the top of the list. I used to keep Critical Success assignments granting me buffs until I had several of them (three or four) and then I collected them, spending two hours on PvE with several buffs.

Now they are sorted randomly (?) - and even the older assignments appear somewhere in the list. Until now twice times this had me accidentally collect the buffs I wanted to save up.

    - - - - -

All in all the system got way better for people who just fill the slots in passing, but it got worse for those who think about what they are doing to achieve the best results.

I strongly suggest to ammend the UI to allow people to sort and filter the doffs for assignments, and also to sort the finished assignments - or enable to switch back to the old UI.

When I read your post, I immediately shat brix. Tho I've checked my tasks, for me it's all colonists and prisoners all the way.

So which assignments were screwed up for you?

Well I just finished the Wadi Consular chain (3/3) and that one you send 5 civilians to be eaten by the system. Was in shock when I looked at the mission complete screen to see Rulian Mazan among the 5 purple that would be removed. After completing, someone in doffjobs mentioned that the systems sometimes lies to you. Looked in my roster and found that Rulian and the other doffs were still there.

Now either I sent the appropriate white/greens on the mission in the 1st place and the system is lying about who I sent, or some missions don't remove doffs like there supposed too. Hard to determine on my end since this was a one-off chain mission.

My SCI character had ~12 Purple Research Lab Science Doffs. Now I have FOUR - and 8 white CIVs.

When do we get them back?!?

And when does this bug get fixed?
