Here's and idea, that I would love some votes on; see if we can get some more gripping content in-game, mystery and such.
I love the whole Fleet system, but its very difficult to get committed players in-game that want to join a fleet for more than a while until they can access the store. Or help donate to Projects.
So an Idea I though that would benefit from the Reputation and include some new content: post if you agree / like / or any suggestions that can peak the developers interest:
1. New Content
So suggestion on new content would be for a Brand new Sector Map - Say Gamma or Beta Quadrant - But with more sub-sectors.
This map would have Fog of war effect, that grey's the map out in the mini-map view until explored - Space view unaffected.
Dozens of new star systems and planets to explore, but keep adding to this, with detailed ground maps to explore with colony's and cities.
More shuttle atmosphere exploring.
2. Reputation System
To tie in with the above content suggestion, a whole new 'Exploration' Reputation system.
New 5 Tier Rep System would run off the collection of Exploration marks that would need to be converted to Tokens via the below Fleet System
Exploration tokens would be used to start new daily projects on the reputation system as per normal.
Rep Rewards can vary between ground weapons, science abilities and items... etc any ideas please comment.
3. Fleet System
So to sum up all the above and hook it into the Fleet system would be the conversion of 'Exploration' Marks to tokens for Reputation daily projects.
Must be in a Fleet to enter the new sector space as access to this is via a wormhole in the Fleet Map.
Fleet Starbase Hourly Missions - starting on the actual Starbase - such as Starbase Incursion - to gather Fleet Emblems to put towards special Exploration Reputation Projects.
Fleet teaming would be needed for this (min 2 players to keep it simple), own Fleet.
Fleet v Fleet (FED or KDF) PvP Events can get the same. (Max 5)
No more rep. It's a slippery slope getting steeper and with less footing every time they add more "rep" and more "rep" and more "rep" -- it's not good for the game the way they're doing it.
They think "rep" = content. It doesn't. They're using rep to fill in for actually adding new gameplay maps and events to the game, IMO.
NO MORE REPUTATION SYSTEMS WE HAVE ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well maybe not a reputation system then, but perhaps a Character build skill. Some sort of project that adds a skill to your character but builds on it incorporating the Fleet...
For the love of the game NO MORE REPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Honestly enough is enough!!!!!!!!!! I can not stress to you how many people I know in game are just sick of Rep's, Rep grinding, and the like. Reps are not End Game Content they are consumers of time when there is nothing else to do. I am sure that everyone that reads this has been through every Rep. and is just plane warn out on the matter. As Dev's you have been given a great canvas to work with the Star Trek Universe. You could do so many things with it. As soon as one grind stops and people are like finely I have some nice stuff lets see what I can do with it now another Rep.
I know Life Time Sub's of this game that are just so warn out of things like this my self included. The game needs real content for higher level players not Rep systems that are more like a hated task at times then any thing fun. There is a lot you could do but honestly I have no doubt I will see another Rep system in play before to long as you all most likely have 2 or 3 already in development thus this OP is a sign of testing the waters for more filler content
While I do like the Reputation system (which I consider a counting system for my progress in exploding bad guys), I disapprove greatly of tying anything to the existing fleet systems. Fleets are basically unusable.
Imagine, in a couple more years you talk a friend into playing STO with you. He's like dude, by the time I finish these 10 reps there will be 5 more and you mean to tell me we have like 200 traits and can only pick 4 ground, 4 space and 8 personal traits. Thats crazy, I thought you were my friend, all you have done is got me playing a game thats all grind!! I unfriend you.
You then look at your friend and say but, you can switch them out on the fly without paying zen. Your friend then gives you a nuckle sandwitch and says $%$#^ YOU!!!!!!!! The End.

That sounds like a friend you should have never made in the first place. He sounds like an TRIBBLE-hat. Punching you in the face because he dislikes the game?
Should I bring up World of W*rcraft's "Faction Standing" system? THERE is a grind for you. And those factions didn't even give out very good rewards.
