After playing 4 Space STFs against the Borg, the 4 Advanced Crafting Packages that I recieved did not contain any very rare materials as stated in Dev Blog 31:
"The Advanced pack, on the other hand, is given as an additional reward in elite queues and contains a random assortment of 25 R&D materials (5 common materials, 10 common, uncommon, rare or very rare materials, 7 uncommon, rare or very rare materials, and 3 rare or very rare materials)
But the same Dev Blog also says: "For instance, playing an elite space STF against the Borg, like Khitomer Vortex, will reward Trellium-K from all Advanced packs earned while playing that queue."
I wound up getting fleetmates and a couple pickups together for 2 Cure Space Elite Queues, 1 Khitomer Space, and 1 Infected Space, but in all of the "Advanced Crafting Material Packages (Trellium-K)", I only received various amounts of Common, Mostly Uncommon, and Rare materials and no Very Rare Materials, much less Trellium-K.
Would someone please clarify which of the two Dev Blog statements are correct or if the drop rate for the Trellium-K is not working correctly?
like most things said in the dev blogs, everything they say is cryptic(see what i did there ).
What the dev blog stated was not that you will always get Trellium-K as a reward in the pack it means that Trellium K will only drop from a specific STF. So that means that each queue space or ground has it's own unique crafting item from the pack, and you have CHANCE to get a very rare crafting item from the pack. DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL ALWAYS GET VR CRAFTING LOOT FROM PACK UPON COMPLETION.
Everything is done with RNG in this game and we all know how cryptic loves RNG.
Tying the crafting system into the PvE queue and placing random chance on top of random chance to obfuscate difficulty and hide the actual time spent doing the tasks will certainly backfire with the smarter players. I didn't think it was possible, but this new crafting system makes the reputation system look like a walk in the grind park.
