I know how you train a BOFF in BFAW3 but I need to know for my temp destroyer build how you train a BOFF in Overload 3. Thanks for the help.

Exchange prices are all over the board. Right now theres a Bajoran officer for 335K, and an alien officer for 525K

I keep an eye on BOFF pricing, and always have 1 or 2 on hand. Digg through them all.... you'll find something in your price range.

TBH i would not waste a Lcdr slot on BO3. BFAW3 and TS3 are so much more effective

Yeah, prices vary wildly. Mainly because there's no way to easily search for a Boff with a specific power. When I post I look a bit, then usually give up and post for what I think will sell.

Back in my day a Boff w/ RSP3 would go for 3-4 million! Now, you'd be lucky to get 50k! Darn nerfs!

Meh I have hit as high as 90k+ with BO2, BO3 isn't really necessary as BFAW3/TS3 for that slot.

FAW has nothing to do with BO. They are completely different skills, used in different situations. I personally will prefer always BOIII instead of FAW, because of my play style and because i find it more useful than FAW in most of my builds. But it is a question of taste, style and other minor things.

BO in pve is such a waste, TS isnt better. In pvp BO -even without double tapping- can be quite lethal.

What...?? lol. BO is quite lethal in pve and pvp, exactly the same.. i use BO ALL THE TIMES in pve to get rid of my target's shields using just 1 hit of my BOII. If that is a waste.. well, maybe we should power creep BO to be used as an insta-kill. Btw.. what is "double-tapping"?

You can find BOFFs with BO III on the exchange for 1000-5000 EC if you keep looking.

In now ancient times (pre-S8 i think) it was possible to fire two consecutive shots of BO, if they were of different magnitude (e.g. II+III), which was pretty much a standard-kill in pvp, as the first destroyed the shield, the second hit blank hull. If combined with DEM+Marion or simply a Weapon battery between shots, you didnt even had trouble with energydrain.
The same principle would apply to torpedos, though they are far harder to time.

Thats why there is now a CD between the activation of such abilities.

Yup, but the point was, that i prefer BO most of the times. Because almost all my ships have a torp+beam builds, or beam+cannon builds and so on. So i always use a mix of BO+high yield or BO+rapid cannon to destroy my target. For example. I mean, what i want is to get rid of my target's shields (most of the times since i use it at 6 km range) and after that, almost at the same time, to launch a high yielded torp that will lower my target's hull points a lot or cannon rapid fire with the same purpose, this not always work, but is the way i play (i also use tractor beams and tank strategies to sit in my place if i need to) so in this case FAW will be useless for me. Of course in my Karfi and my Hirogen Apex i use a beam build, and of course i have FAW there, because i only have beams. In all my other ships (Vesta,Mogh,Bortasqu, even my Guramba) i have BO. Even in my guramba xD, i have in the back 1 disruptor beam that i use to BO it when i need to turn, so , because of the high turn rate of the Guramba (plus i have a RCS console) i can turn and start using my forwards DHCS against the shield drained by the BO. If i dont have enough turn rate or my speed is not enough , i will not be using BO and a disruptor beam xD. But again, is the way i play. Saying BO is better than FAW does not make any senses, because the use is completely different.

Spiral Wave is hands down the best beam array out there. The only downside is that you must own a Cardassian Galor ship to buy this array from the dilithium store.

They are good and have there merrits in PvP, but they are not the best ones out there. For PvE, CrtDx3 is the way to go.

    Maybe in 2012.

It's mediocre now, IMO, with newer weapons out there, and you're not required to buy a ship built for Power Creep but has been overtaken by Power Creep.

One way to make finding Bridge Officers with the desired power easier is to specifiy the race, rarity and the branch (Tactical/Engneering/Science), and then look through the different races. It's still easy to miss something, but it can make it a bit simpler.

And yeah, t he Exchange really needs the ability to look for BOs with particular skills.
