with no way to get jem'hadar attack ship...

hey again,

I know that people won't like this. but here we go. was there a battle that would have

damaged jem'hadar attack ships that we might be able to salvage???

    Won't happen. It'll be found in boxes and that's probably all that's ever going to happen.

    Nope. Sorry, start grinding EC or opening lockboxes.

    Oh yeah, right...specially-marked event packs, not lockboxes. Same basic concept though- suck it up and dive into the lottery.

    You really don't want to play the lockbox / doffpack promo game to get a specific ship. Your chances are so low. You could spend hundreds of dollars and not get the ship. There are those that have spent over a thousand, and not get the ship they wanted.

    Save your EC and buy off the exchange. The prices may be high but it pales in comparison to the horror stories of guys paying so much real money and had nothing to show for it.

    Search the forums about lockboxes and people not getting some special ship. The history of these forums alone is filled with bad stories from years ago and even today.

    If you still want to play the lockbox / doffpack promo game, then by all means... it's your money. You may likely not get what you want, but Cryptic / PWE gets what they want regardless.

    If you're fed, get the new fleet patrol escort. If you're rom, grab a fleet T'Varo. To my knowledge, both do the same or better than the bug. If you're KDF (or still just really want the JHAS), save up ec for the next doff promo with them and buy from the exchange.

    Even the exchange will be tough. There isn't even one on there right now, and by the time you grind out 500 million ec it might not even show up ever on the exchange.

    If you bought 172 keys for 19375 zen, then you would have 500 million ec now and then you could check often for a bug and probably get one.

    That's cheaper than going through packs or boxes. I don't know the stats for this ship when it comes around in the packs, but using the nicor biowarship as an example, you could open 172 undine lockboxes and you'd still only have a 51.5% chance of getting a nicor bio-warship. That's almost $200 for a 50-50 shot at the ship.

    to add to what voporak said, i have the fleet tempest and it's really nice. It has the tail gun (which comes in handy more often than you would think) and better boff seating than the bug. There's a little more hull, a little less speed and turn, and one of the engi consoles becomes a sci console slot.

    Although at 2500 zen plus a fleet ship module it's a whole lot cheaper.

    Still a solid ship, but IMO, the JHAS is not worth what it is now, just like the Galor.

    Power Creep.

    Newer ships have gotten very close to the JHAS' performance for cheaper. And in the Galor's case, surpassed it. The JHAS is still a good overall combination of things, but that gap has closed considerably.

    I don't think it works like that. iirc, the doff packs would only have a chance to award a bug during the promo period.

    No promo packs for the JHAS will still drop a bug ship.

    You can get a fleet ship module for about 10 mil on the exchange. So you can get the fleet version for 40-50 million energy credits and spend no real cash.

    Just remember that buying 100 does not give you a 100% chance of getting one. It Is far less, as each pack has 1/100 chance and the result of the previous one has no influence on the next pack opened. You would probably have to buy like 200 to actually get a reasonable chance of getting one.

    Not really, if you open 100 packs you're very likely to get one, most people who have gotten one have done it with 30 packs or less. Some fairly extensive testing was done on tribble as well, which confirms the 1/100 odds. But you're correct, you will never be 'certain' to get one, since cryptic doesn't really deal in certainties.

    there'll be a promo running for a limited time soon.

    I bought mine long time before for 235 mil. Then during last promo, someone posted the ship for 32 mil. I got it :D

    There is always someone who forgets to add a zero and someone else feels lucky for the day.
