Next Challenge Idea: Exploration Clusters

I'm not sure when exactly the doors will be installed, but it would be fun if the next challenge could focus on "exploration" in a new cluster.

I wouldn't mind if the next challenge was postponed for a few weeks to accommodate this type of challenge. Anybody with me on this one?

Sure, why not? I believe this was a request before they did the Mirror Roms anyway.

Makes sense. I have some ideas for exploration missions, and this sounds like a good opportunity to try one.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Someone up in the news thread was saying something like "Most Foundry missions aren't up to the standards of the removed star cluster missions."

    Let's prove them wrong!

I think this is an excellent idea, and I could see Smirk liking it too.

I think there's a fair likelihood that the exploration doors will go live as part of the Season 9.5 launch at the end of the month. Especially as it's been announced along side the Exploration cluster removal.

I suspect that it's only a few and that said individuals haven't actually played one or the other.

I think that is a good idea. Something that focuses on exploration can lead to a first contact mission which in turn could end up being friendly or hostile. It could also open up the door to a science-based mission.

The sentiment is out there, that Foundry missions are sub-par. It's something we can and should fight. We know we can do better, we can show everyone else that we can do better as well.

And according to the patch notes, the cluster doors are live on Tribble right now (so it can be reasonably assumed they'll go live with 9.5). Can't test that though cause the Tribble Foundry is still disabled.
