Faction Wars

I presented an idea yesterday in OPvP to make faction wars. To see which faction is the best.

Pure Romulan vs Klingons vs Feds. No gear restriction, but no lobi/lockbox ships.

For that there is a Lobi faction.(if you guys want it)

2 possible setups:

1. Random 5v5 fast versus

FvR and KvL for example and
winners face eachother in final match

2. Group 5v5 Tournament model

FvK, FvR, FvL RvK, RvL, KvL

then straight to final match of 2 best teams

3. Without Lobi faction quick&dirty

FvR, FvK, RvK

2 best fight it out

Time would be Friday/Saturday/Sunday on 10pm-2am CET, 9pm-1am UTC/GMT, which translates to 4-8pm EST, 1pm-5pm PST.

So, apply and I want to hear your thoughts and say what faction would you prefer and would you prefer 10v10 or 5v5.

Without lobi/LB ships the KDF are at a disadvantage, especially in sci ships.

Could still be fun though.

Romulans even more.
KDF atleast have Felk'hri carrier for kind of sci ship. And Roms have 1 kind of sci ship that no one is flying anyway.

BUT in interest of balance we could make that KDF and ROM are alowed to use 1 temporal per team. Federation with no temporals.

Or allow each team to have 1 lockbox ship supported by 4 faction specific ships. just an idea.

Wouldn't that still put Rommies and KDF at a destinct disadvantage, though? Science is king.

Romulan do have the Fleet Ha'nom Guardian, the only full science ship with a battle cloak. And yes, people fly them.

Perhaps the only reason why they are not seen more is that it's only accessible by fleet ship module purchases. Theres no cheap upgrade costs as the original is a dilithium purchase.

I recently bought one for my sci-reman captain. Have not regretted it

OK, OK. Klings and Romulans have science ships. No need for lobi ships then.

Nah, just their faction specific ships. Would make the setups more interesting. The Dragus is a perfectly fine Sci ship and Romulans are OP. Kinda balances things out a bit. Would be fun.

The idea is a faction specific space combat. Old School Style.

So it makes no sense to discuss about lobi or lockbox ships, as they are not faction specific. If there is a disadvantage, handle with it. That what factions formerly should be about! Nowadays with mixed queues it is all pretty the same. I guess that is one of the factors, why sharxtreme comes up with this suggestion!
What you could set as a discussion point are the Tal-Shiar Ships. Pretty Romulan, but they belong to Lockbox/Lobi-Group.

Personally i like the idea of faction specific Premade-Matches. :cool:

uuuhhhhh what a pity there aren't more Cardassian Ships available. :rolleyes:

Yeah i thought about tal-shiar ships as they are least-lobi of all lobi ships, but pure faction ships are enough. They were always enough.

We can make a list of people for next weekend, at times i suggested.
You guys just post your preferred faction, ship and captain class.

How would Fed-Roms and KDF-Roms queue together? There is no Green Team.

There would be no queues. Challenge match will be made.
It will be Fed vs Roms then KDF vs Roms for example.
Best 2 go to final. 3rd gets no glory.

BTW to mention this also:
whoever chooses the Romulan faction can't participate as Fed or KDF.
