Just read the most recent crafting update and saw you can craft this rifle and all I can say is not cool cryptic/prefect world
This was a Target preorder item, that was nerfed and made useless after lvl 10 and now you make it craftable rather than fix it and available to all.....
This item should only be available to those who bought it as they paid money for it so please rather than add more content fix the old stuff first

I for one am glad to get it, as you cannot get the preorder items anymore.
This TR-116B sniper rifle has a secondary fire mode that shoots a transported bolt at a single target dealing high damage with a good chance to knockback. The upgrades made to this weapon cause it to deal more damage and penetrate 20% of the targets shields, but as a trade-off, this iteration of the TR-116 model requires line of sight to hit its target.

Also, call me nitpicky, but why they have to call it the TR-116B? Why not a new designation like TR-130? I mean we are crafting something, surely it should sound new as well as feel new.
It deals kinetic damage and as far as I know, the Borg don't adapt to it or physical damage. However, Kinetic damage is rare in ground combat so it is possible that the Borg could adapt to it, but people remodulate due to their main weapon before the abilities that deal kinetic damage needs to be remodulated.

All I got for my purchase was a point defence tact console and some crappy armour. I'd be quite happy if they updated these items and couldn't care less if they were available to everyone.
Stos been out since what? 2009? Quite frankly all the preorder stuff should be made available for purchase.
Also to make this weapon more cannon I wish they'd release both version to everyone and make it a 2 part set with a scouting device, Increases perception by 50 and allows long range target aquisition. Set 2: Enables teleporting projectile secondary fire on TR-116 rifle. then and only then can I see them releasing this rifle. I waited 4 years for them to release the preorder items. make them worth it at least.
I can guarantee that if they ever made a more powerful version of the TR-116a that within a month of release, PVP community members would have complained enough to have the thing hit over the head with a nerf hammer then clubbed to death with nerf bats as it lay unconscious on the ground.
And why shouldn't they, a powerful high shield penetrating sniper rifle (much more damage on an expose/exploit) that can shoot through walls? That's not overpowered at all.
And this is why the preorder version will always stay at Mk I or Mk II.
Also... word on the wiki is that Cryptic had plans to make some of the preorder items available. Maybe this is how they're doing it, through the new crafting system with alterations. The original preorder items are still basically a badge of honor. These new "Production" models do not do anything to make them any less impressive.
As someone who has the Red Matter Capacitor... I'm looking forward to getting the TR-116B. If it uses the same model as the 116A, or even a tweaked version... I'm gonna be a happy crafter.
wasn't around in 2009 (well wasnt on STO) and i never even knew it was in the game, i always wanted it to be and now that it is im actually going to start crafting.

Simply put, the TR-116B is similar by name only and/or its skin, however; that's where it ends. Sad that the original Pre-order does not scale to level, but it is far too powerful a weapon (OP) to be allowed to scale.
Pre-Order Items should be available for "PURCHASE" at the CStore, and not be shoved into the crafting system. I still do not know why the Red Matter Cap, TR-116A, Sat defense, sat point defense, Armor, etc... are NOT available in the CStore, the game has gone F2P and it is now 4 to 5 years into its lifespan.
Isn't it time to offer those items to the general gaming population? Even though they are mostly useless pass Lt ranking, with the exception of the Red Matter Cap.
And ss stark2k said, the TR-116A would be OP at endgame level. Especially with Engies and their cover shields. Deploy, pop head out to select target, duck back behind shield, fire weapon.
I can see working to the goal of owning one.

Did you ever consider... this begin 13+, that people weren't old enough to get or even consider getting this game? How about people who didn't have the money who would of? Yes, it sounds like a cat poster, but it could be true. Yes, it is just a game, but that being said do I need to go further there? Also, it is F2P, nothing should be reallly limited, and all should be near public domain, (ZEN can be a factor.) I'd love to see the pre-order items for sale on the ZEN store, even if I need to pay a lot to get them. The Emotes, the TR-116, all that.
Please, consider this. Either make the TR-116B wall through and lower the power as to conside, or at least make the TR-116A Avaliable through the store, please.

A Mk XII version of the TR-116A is too OP for it to ever happen. PvP and Elite STFs are made too easy with this weapon.
ok made a good point my biggest concern is that those who have it paid for it and we've been asking it be fixed. Therefore if rather than makeing this a craftable item for all to get free of charge if they made this avaiable on the c-store and made this the pre-order item just updated I would have no issues. My problem is we paid for it and now they made a better version and arent fixing the old and instead making us work for what we paid for.
PS i not asking for an op weapon i just asking for a weapon that doesnt suck anymore as the Tr-116a rifle sucks since they nerfed it. ((Which they had good reason to but in the process made completly useless in my opinion therefore a fix was needed. With the lose gone and damage increased this tr-116 b looks like a viable fix))

the B version is not an upgrade its just a variant of the original designed just to be useful on other areas.
the ak series rifles had the ak74 and the ak74u the former was the original of that line, the the latter was a smaller machine gun but it became a carbine, it was a variant of its original, much the same way with the ak47 and the rpk which is essentially a 47 with longer barrel and fires at a higher velocity which means greater recoil is has its own variant but like the 74u it has its own purpose, the rpk is a lmg (light machine gun).
this b version is clearly intended for close quarter fights then the longer range transport a bullet to the target and behind its borg shieldsing but just before the suit.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Right now, stuff like RMC or the rifle are highly sought after, all those years after. Simply because they were really good. And useful at end game.
I would like to see those items in a special C store package, but they probably have agreement and simply can't.
