an ops ability that gives boosts speed turn instead of speed

lvl1
LTC eng:
+80% turn for 25 secs
immunity to turnrate debuffs 25

lvl 2
cmdr eng
+100%turn for 25 secs
+15 inertia rating 25 sec
immunity to turnrate debuffs

lvl 3
cmdr eng
+150%turn for 25 secs
+25 inertia rating 25 sec
immunity to turnrate debuffs
25% speed if engines disabled

its a space whale compensator. opinions?

    Yes, plus other stuff.

    Aux2id+this ability=ships spinning so fast they look like flying saucers.

    I can see where you're coming from OP. Esp. with placing the Lv1 at LtCdr.

    I'm a little iffy on it, but I very much understand the use for it. Typically the "space whales" reside in ships like the Galaxy, Odyssey, Bortasqu', and they're all Cmdr ENG at the minimum. Most of the Carriers will be left out of it, but carriers are somewhat compensated for their lack of turn by their 2 hangars.

    I don't dislike the idea, but I truly doubt many people would use it. Also, these powers should either be Ens, Lt, LtC - or the buffs you listed could be stronger, and I still think they'd be balanced.

    In my opinion, ships are too zippy as is. I've seen cruisers in PvP move in some absurd ways as is. And escorts are pretty much starfighters... The best thing that could happen would be an EPtE nerf.

    You'd be better off making a duty officer that applies an Inertia buff with Auxiliary to Inertial Dampeners. There is absolutely no reason to create a separate ability specifically to buff inertia and turn rate when we already have an ability that buffs turn rate.

    Wait, do you mean a Boff ability that mimics what "Evasive maneuvers" already does and is available to every captain already? Evasive maneuvers plus Doff's equals carrier turning on a dime every 30 seconds... Adding to driver coil skill bumps it to more than a +800% possible increase.
