Cancel Event project?

Potentially dumb question here! If I cancel an event project (like the Risian Cruiser) after having already contributed pearls, will I get the pearls back, or are they gone forever?

I slotted the cruiser project on 2 alts and have been contributing pearls since the summer event started having not read closely enough to know that alts can access the ships with only 40 pears once one of your toons completes the project. D'oh! :P

    click cancel, you should get a message saying if you cancel you will lose all you donated

    Just leave them til next year. Unless your OCD won't allow for an open Events mission.
