Any reason to go with Rom ship?

I've been leveling a Fed aligned Rom tac, and trying to figure out what ship build to go with. I haven't played for quite a while, and since my 50 is a sci officer in a Vesta I'm not sure what to go with for my tac.

Looking at the forums though, I can't tell if it's actually worthwhile to go with a Rom ship or of I'd be better off trying for a fleet Avenger, or even my Vesta for my Rom.

I've been skimming the forums and maybe a Scim or T'varo? (I have a lifetime sub, so my absence means zen built up). Or am I just better off with something else? Should I just sell keys and buy a bug ship? :p

You can only use romulan ships at lvl 50. Until a certain rank you can use fed ships iirc but i think if you reach captain or so you are limited to romulan ships.

If you are a tac, maybe you should use a Dhelan or a Mogai Warbird. Or since you are a lifetimer you also got the veteran ship, the Daeinos Heavy Destroyer, before you buy a new one, maybe you should try that one first, it has 2 different modes, depending on the mode its look also changes.

    Oh, excellent point there.

I guess I'll start with the Daeinos. I seem to recall the Mogai turning like a boat, although it's been a while and it may not be true for the T5 ship.

You can make the Mogai dance pretty well with something like Emergency Power to Engines, a turn console or two, and Auxiliary to Dampeners (doffed).

You might be mistaking the Mogai with the D'Deridex. The D'Deridex is a slow-turning ship. The Mogai is a fast turning ship.

If they haven't changed it yet. You should be able to use a Steamrunner Retrofit at level 50 as long as you have purchased the Steam bundle. It is also a very good ship with 10 consoles but can only be purchased through Steam.

If you don't like using the battle cloak, and the damage bonus that comes with it, than I would suggest a lockbox vessel.

If you have the lifetime then the fleet veteran ship is on of the best all rounders you can get especially for one fleet module, it has a fantastic boff layout decent speed, shield and heal mods. The tvarro only really has two niche set ups, spike hit and run or torpedo skirmisher. The scimitar is out and out the best pve ship in the game in terms of damage, but that means either running it as a beam cruiser or a cannon monster but many players find it unwieldy in this role (although this is my all time favourite setup).
The veteran ship will do almost anything you could want to do as tac and is very forgiving. And with romulan plasma being one of the best weapon types you can buff up the consoles aoe attack. It can tank, vape or dogfight (with a good setup all of these at the same time).

    Hope that helps

yep, as a lifetimer its a no-brainer, get a daeinos and be happy.
romulan prototype stuff weapon set to push further damage of the lotus.
nice looking, nimble yet sturdy, can bite really hard.
fire up tac buffs, then the lotus and watch yellow numbers flooding the screen.

Daeinos and Mogai both have the same turn rate. 14.
While kind of low for an escort (usually 16+), they turn plenty fast.
