In Space PvP, I seem to always get in matches where there are gravity wells (GW) all over the place. Is there a counter to GW? I typically end up just sitting there getting pulled from one to the other. I can port out of one every few minutes with my Romulan abilities, but usually another GW instantly appears on me. Just curious if there is a counter? I tried Polarize Hull, but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks for any feedback.
I'm a lover not a fighter. But I'm also a fighter so don't get any ideas...
- Inertial Dampeners skill allows you to resist the pull
- Attack Pattern Omega negates the pull
Speed buffs make it easier for you to move away from the wells, especially if you have points in ID skill.
- Auxiliary power to dampeners
- Emergency Power to Engines
- Evasive maneuvers
- Deuterium surplus
- various clicky consoles that give speed boost
- High engine power
- Flying agile ship in general.
I have around 100 ID skill (skill points / gear) and I usually have no problems with the wells. Though, I use EPtE and Aux2damp too.
Aux2dampeners
Emergency power to engines
Polarize hull
Evasive maneuvers
Attack pattern omega
Engine battery may help if you have no power devoted to engines and don't manage your settings
Inertial dampeners skill in the skill tree
Those are about it...i suppose attack pattern alpha and tactical fleet with fleet technician kinda count as well
Run A2D... and get an Anti Matter doff. (that increases the duration of A2D, as well as adding +allresist for the duration of the skill) If you are tight on EC the blue doff is almost as good at a much lower cost.
1 guy pops 1 grav well = 5 people use aux2dam ....1 power with 5 counters....cuz this is how the game works but seems that people are fine with that guy to rule them all.Same for tyken rifts or any AoE power creep cryptic power.
Any ways to actually counter (as in disable grav well)? Answer: No.
The most basic thing that helps is emergency power to engines. I would recommend it first if you have an engineering bridge officer slot you can afford to lose. Its the easiest to make room for since you only need the lowest level of it.
Attack pattern omega will completely negate the effect of any pull ability. Unfortunately, its a commander level ability, so unless you're using a tactical based ship, you won't have access to it.
If you aren't using it currently, try evasive maneuvers. It's not as effective as epte, but it usually helps.
These are the three best counters I can think of. I know there are a lot of replies here, but these are the ones that are easily swapped and are useful in many situations.
