Crafting System Feedback:
Change dilithium to Quick Buy!
Summary:
Remove dilithium “tax” and allow “quick buy” for materials with dilithium.
Perceived Issue:
Some crafted components and items require dilithium to create. This “tax” is causing many potential users to turn away from the crafting system before giving it a try. Customers don't want to feel forced into a purchase, they would rather have it be their choice to purchase if and when they want. Charging dilithium for crafting the way it is on the test server needs to be reworked.
Solution / Proposal:
Add a “small” dilithium cost to each of the 16 materials used in the crafting system. Allow craftsmen to purchase said materials when needed on a case by case basis straight from the project interface. If the user has the materials already then there should be no dilithium charge at all.

Here is a proposal breakdown of dilithium cost per material:
Trionium Gas = 25
Magnesite = 25
Duranium = 25
Hydrazine Gas = 25
Hexafluorine Gas = 100
Verteron Particle = 100
Tritanium = 100
Thoron Particle = 100
Beta-Tachyon Particle = 1000
Z-Particle = 1000
Tetrazine Gas = 1000
Rubidium = 1000
Argonite Gas = 2000
Plekton = 2000
Craylon Gas = 2000
Trellium-K = 2000
Radiogenic Particle = 2000
Dentarium = 2000
Steps / Highlighted points:
1- Remove dilithium “tax” and allow “quick buy” for materials (using dilithium).
2- Set interface to allow the purchase of any missing material while slotting a project.
3- Give users with materials the option to complete any project without paying dilithium.
Desired effect:
Users will not feel as though they are being taxed to play the game. It will allow those who wish to explore and do missions gaining materials to partake of the crafting content without spending dilithium. But more users will spend dilithium if the price is low enough to save them some exploring time by just clicking the quick buy button since it will be the path of least effort.
Closing Commentary:
The above changes are something that I believe can be added to the system with a moderate amount of rework. I understand that there are deadlines to be met and promises already made, my hope with this proposal is to provide a constructive idea that can be implemented in the shortest amount of time.

Who would want to pay 20m ec for a MK XII field Generator console if all you had to do was grind materials or even easier buy from the exchange.
No one in their right mind would pay dilithium for materials, they are easily gotten through doff assignments, scanning/mining or by buying from the exchange.
Your *solution* is just your own way of saying remove all dilithium from crafting, if you don't need to spend it no one will.
I do not agree with you about this taking out the value, since the amount of effort in this new system to be able to craft a single MK XII item is huge. And the very rare materials needed to make one component (of which you will need 5 to 6 such components) will not be obtainable from converting your current traces and data samples since rare materials only come out of trace particles randomly, and nothing gives very rare. I am not sure but I expect those materials to only come from doing PVE queue content which you may have to place 1st or do on elite mode just to obtain a couple materials. A component on average uses about 5 such materials so you are looking at about 25 or more very rare materials to be able to attempt one MK XII console (which you better hope you crit on or you could get a common quality Mk XII for all that effort).
Summary: I disagree with you about the price of Mk XII items losing their value on the exchange due to the proposal I made.
See above above.. (very rare materials.. that grind will not be as simple as you think).
I do not agree. People will spend dilithium if its only a small cost at a time when they want to get something done right now. The way I have it outlined, the dilithium provides convenience to the customer without forcing the customer into using it if they wish to put in all the effort and time.
I am not saying you are wrong, I am just saying that the things you pointed out were not agreeable with my understanding of how things will work. Thank you for your comments and viewpoint on this proposal.

I actually received these very rare materials in a stack of 4 from doing the R&D assignment at the academy. It takes 2 days to complete and then has a wait period which I am guessing is 4 days to a week before you can run it again.
