Exchanging Data samples and Particle Traces seriously flawed

sheppardussheppardus Member Posts: 110 Arc User
Having just had a look at the awful new Doff system on tribble i also noticed that we have to (unless I have missed something) convert our current data samples and particle traces ourselves??
Please say I have missed something and it will convert them all automatically or there is an option to convert all at once, because if not I really do not fancy spending hours and hours repeat clicking to get through tens of thousands of data samples on all my toons.

Also how come it is all assigned randomly?? I really don't like the fact that my huge amount of Particle traces will be randomly converted to items you can get from data samples, I have spent months gathering particle traces for crafting powered alien artifacts, and now its down to luck of the draw to get the correct materials to complete the same doff assignment i had plenty of materials for beforehand?

Please someone tell me I am missing something...
Doffing is the main draw atm to this game between seasons, please don't ruin it completely

At the very lieast give us a slider or an interface to just convert all.

I'm not so sore about the randomly assigned mats. Its 1 trace to 2 mats and there's only 4 mats, so while it is random there's at least a fairly even distribution.

Star Trek Online's RNG is the new Star Wars Galaxies' NGE.

    I agree.

I found myself running out of converted Particle components before I even hit level 1. And I had like 30 particles each.

Fair system for us crafting veterans.

I will send another topon over with traces to do an accurate count of the conversion process for particles.

I am NOT going to convert my thousands of anomalies one click at a time. Give us a slider, or a batch conversion please.

Also, my dedicated crafters are now level zero?

Where the heck do you even trade in the old particle traces?

Devs, please give us at least a slider for sample conversions. A one click converts all option would be better, but at least a slider will save me the carpal tunnel from clicking "buy" on the literally thousands of samples I have stored away on my crafter.

Double click or right click and use a data sample in your inventory to open the trade-in UI (same as how using a lobi crystal opens the lobi store).

Minor tip. Select the thing you want to convert with a single left click in the convert interface. Hold the Enter key, Rapidly click the buy button. Does em at about 2 per second that way,. Still awful speed but so much better.

Or just move the window so that the buy and 'ok' line up so that all you have to do is click.

Thanks. I was looking all around for an NPC. :/

What I find flawed about the exchange system is that we're only getting Common and Uncommon materials, with Particle Traces giving RANDOM. Yet another example of Cryptic not wanting anyone to get a proper head start. You may convert all your rare Particle Traces and end up with tons of Common crafting materials.

Hold the Control key down when you click buy, it bypasses the confirm window entirely.

We do need a slider for coverting the data samples by the time this goes live. Or a contact at Memory Alpha that will do a batch convert.
