The new Doff system is a complete shambles, totally unworkable and time consuming, nebula, cluster and expanse sectors need to be reinstated for their missions.
Also an automatic transfer of old to new materials needs to happen, some of us have many thousands/tens of thousands of data samples that can't be changed manually by clicking one at a time.
I'd sign, but Cryptic is set on changing it and they will. Regardless of what the community says. And this first version of the new system is utter TRIBBLE, but they're going to run with it.

What ever comes up on Tribble will unavoidable find its way on Holodeck! No matter what community says!
Alll you can do is pray that more than the common 3% of the Bugs on Tribble will get a Bugfix before launch....
So far all the Feedback i hear is that this new DOff and Crafting is a pretty s***.
As someone has already said they will go ahead n push this c@#p to main no matter wot we say its been a year or two since they listened to the forum users n that took over a 1000 page thread + people e-mailing CBS.
Dont get ur hopes up it will be pushed to main that will cause more bugs that will become features of the game.

Look at the bright side of it. After a while, people will stop complaining, and will stop using the DOFF system (except for contraband). Then, in a year or 2, Cryptic will make a Season X.5, with the long awaited DOFF UI revamp, and everyone will be happy.
The Cryptic way to add content, is to break it first, then rebuild it, and slap a "New !" sticker on it.
Petitions are not allowed. I got nearly banned when I made one without knowing the rule. Thankfully another poster kindly informed me and I managed to edit my original post (before the ban). Happily the quick edit lead to a change in decision.
That said, community reps aren't doing much of anything compared to the effort BranFlakes used to make. So sad he left. Also I agree with your sentiments completely OP!
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
im not happy with the new doff system either . a couple of the features I like , like the doffs already assigned but still change able if the choices are bad. but a beginner doffer can just click away at it. with common and green doffs it wont matter much to them anyways.
but I hate that the rwards gets cut off and you cant scroll left or right to see whats missing only make the crappy UI window bigger and that still isn't enough on some of the missions.
it just seems that once again they are catering to the dumbest and or laziest.
and exploration and scanning from outside at a contact point is doing away with entire maps now.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days.
The new Doff UI is utterly terrible. Even if it's incomplete (which it likely is) what we can see now is the "core" or "foundation" of what is to come, and if you build a house on a shoddy foundation, you're going to have a shoddy house. I also have an analogy about any future improvements to the Tribble UI and lipstick on pigs.
Scrap it and go back to the current one on Holodeck. Cryptic should be asking us what improvements can be made to the Holodeck UI and start from there. The Holodeck UI is a sturdy foundation to build a good house upon. I can guarantee that improving the Holodeck UI will be a far more productive task than trying to run with what is on Tribble right now which was developed in a vacuum.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
