Regent-class Help

Hello,

I'm trying to build a Regent-class for my engineer, but I've never done a cruiser build before.

Link to STOacademy: http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=regentbeam7_0

Goals: PVE build, a combination of DPS and tank, with emphasis on DPS. No AuxtoBat.

DOFFS: 2x Conn officers (tac team cooldown). Other three I don't know.

Comm Array: Weapons System Efficiency

Power: 100/50/25/25 (or something like that)

I would appreciate some pointers, because as I said, I've never done a cruiser build before. Thanks!

    Here ya go man.

3 damage control aux2sif doffs for the amazing hot, an rsp doff, warp core cleanser for borg boarding part cleanse. 1 of your choice.

You don't need tactical team, redistribute shields is fine for pve. I changed some space traits and rearranged some skills to reflect the changes I did.

Shoot any questions you may have

    Cheers

Edit: I prefer epte, but left epts for you. And you should max weapons with everything else going to auxillary.

2 Nukara Particle Converters is an amazing hack job! ;)

    Thank you.

I understand most of the build, but have the following questions:

What is the name of the RSP Doff?

Why the CC 2 piece console set?

Why 2 Nukara Particle Converts (NPC?)?

If you want just a few minor changes, this may help.

2 blue Damage Control Engineer doffs to reduce EPt CD
2 blue Development Lab Scientist to reduce CD on Sci Team
1 blue matter antimatter specialist to improve Aux 2 Damp

...no tt and EPtE instead of EPtS might work in a dps run where everything dies so fast it doesn't have time to shoot back, but in the normal game if you're doing a pug stf or whatever you will die so fast without those two skills. A borg tactical cube will tear you up as soon as your targeted. If you enjoy the re-spawn timer I suppose it's a fun build. I guess I know why you die so often when we did fleet stfs.

    1. Fabrication

    2. The 7.5% bonus to phasers/disruptors is bonus, gives more then a 30% tactical console

    3. Typo...sorry bout that. Tachyonkinetic converter if you can otherwise a fleet mine console

And Nike, that a bit out of context, was when I was doing the dps channels plus I had tt and epts then...

Was months ago...and so many other variables...

+7.5% Bonus Phaser and Disruptor Energy Damage + 13.1% Phaser Damage = +20.6% Phaser Damage. Or am I doing the math wrong?

Where is the 13.1 coming from?

Either way, your doing the math wrong.
    .missing alot of numbers.

The 7.5% needs the final strength of a weaponx2.5 due to full 125 weapon power to get the results or something like that...i don't want to call upon VD again, but I'm sure he'll step in and drop some epic math beats on us again.

Other 2p bonuses affect the mk 0 common version of what your using and adds that to your damage.

Tl:dr math wrong, need to complicate the **** out of this to get the right formula

Borticuscryptic, you seeing this? It's hard to explain these bonuses to newbies. I'm doing a poor job but, 7.5% should equal 7.5% not 7.5%equals 35%~5 actual increase

Okay, I was just looking at STO wiki. I guess I'll just accept it as it is.

OK, best way to demo it, get the 2p antiproton set warp core/omni beam. Max out weapons power

Have no tactical consoles equipped and look at the boost you get on the omni beam.

Now remove the warp core and equip a console that shows a % greater then 10%

The warp core+onmni 2p ends up being so much more then the supposed higher percentage console.

    Math!
Beam arrays have a base damage of 100 at 50 power. Normal tactical consoles only add their % to the base so a +30% will add 30 at 50 power.

So on your build the beam array base is 100 you get (at 50 power).
    Rarity gives 10
    Dmgx2 gives 10
Starship weapons training at 9 gives 49.5
Starship energy weapons at 9 gives 49.5
    Mk level gives 120.3
    Each fleet console gives 31.9

Now add it all up with 3 fleet tac consoles you get 435 per shot or 348 dps. At 125 weapons power you get 1087.4 DPV / 869.9 DPS

Now add it all up with 2 fleet tac consoles and the multi-energy relay you get 416.2 per shot or 333 dps. At 125 weapons power you get 1040.5 DPV / 832.4 DPS. But the 2 set bonus gives 7.5% at the end. So 1040.5*.075 or about 78 DPV.

ok so I just type all that out and wanted to check what a bonus a fleet console gives at 125 weapons power and its 79.7 DPV. lol so its about the same.

the fleet might even be better depending how Boff and Captain powers work with the 7.5% bonus. and the CrtH bonus.

Note the number might be a bit off I haven’t updated my calculator since I found all the base numbers long long ago.
