Where is the "Use Console" Emote?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Hi everybody,

i can help but wonder... we are in Star Trek, i am a Roleplayer and we will get Ship Interiors for our Vessels... but...

There is a Console in my Ready Room (as seen on the Screenshot on the Offical Homepage) and i know that i do not have an emote to "use" it properly in RP.

This is disturbing.

In Champions online there are plenty emotes for use_computer.

Why not in Star Trek Online?

Come on, i mean... STAR TREK...

"Captain, we have a Problem."
"The upper button to the left red dot on your Console, Mr. Redshirt."

I know... it's a bit odd to want to have it, without any practical meaning... but i want it, and... yes, damn... i want it. :)

Greetings from Germany and sorry for the bad english.

i'm not 100% sure if there is one but you can click the arrow next to the input box in the chat area, and go to Emotes, look through there

    Already did, several times.

There are about four ways to sit on a Chair, five to use a tricorder ( these are the best emotes in the entire game btw), but no emote's for consoles or computers.

You are indeed correct. There is not a single console emote.

I'm pretty sure Darren saw more than one use console emote in the season two prepatch, if I recall there were three for standing and two for kneeling, as well as a kneel and scan.

Wohoo... these are very good news.

I had feared that they were going to sell them in the C-Store...

Thank you, i am looking forward to this patch even a bit more *cheer*

If true, it's about time. Devs said that most of the bundled emotes were NPC animations that they thought would be good for players to be able to trigger.

Meantime, on my bridge, I had to watch my BOs use at least three different animations for working consoles while I was stuck whipping out a tricorder.

    Life isn't fair sometimes. :(

What do you mean in season two?

In star trek online season eight is out and i see no "Use Console" emote.

Although if this has been added to star trek online and i am just blind please tell me what the emote is for this.

They mean "In season two." Which was the newest season in July of 2010, 3.5 years ago, before this thread died.

Then along came some necromancer, and here we go again.

    Necro thread is necro....

That being said, I am surprised this isn't in the game in some form.

I was at Starbase 39 last night, over by the ship and exchange corner, and up in the upper left was an NPC Tellarite furiously banging his fists on a console.
One of the funniest things I have seen ingame and I did find myself wondering whether there was an emote that would let me do the same....

So perhaps Necro thread is ... timely then?

If Cryptic was to stop all their hard work on the game to give your ship a special feature. We would loose half a years worth of content. Maybe more. What were you thinking.

    Top Ten Ways To Necropost

    10. Browse the forums with the Wayback Machine.
    9. You're a Vulcan and only experience Pon Forum every seven months.
    8. Click "Last >>" in the Galactic News Network forum and pick a thread, any thread.
    7. Surf the forums from your Tardis.
    6. Join in a rant about Gozer and STF's/PvP.
    5. Only post in threads with less than five replies. You're bound to get a live thread sooner or later.
    4. Finally get around to responding to that post you bookmarked.
    3. Your in-game name is "mcfly@outatime".
    2. Reply to the guy named "Archived Post".
    1. Search is your friend. Except when it's not.

Please remember to check the dates of threads; and if you find an old thread which violates the PWE Community Rules and Policies or has been inactive for over 30 days before someone replied to it just report it and avoid posting in it.

Please bear in mind that re-posting in "necro'd" threads is considered a form of spamming.

Note that you're more than welcome to post in an existing active topic or to start a new thread on the topic if there are no active topics already.

    Live Long and Prosper,
