Alternate to Risa Festival

There have been plenty for requests for more festivals, or alternates to run along with existing ones.
Today there's an outcry from certain people that oh my, Risa the Party. Freaking. Planet. has been opened to more party devices. The horror...the horror...
Thinking on these things, maybe next year along with the LOLnut festival on Risa there could be some sort of "Serious Warrior" festival, someplace like Rura Penthe, where no party devices work. Then the "OMG stop using party devices on the party planet" contingent could have their no-fun zone, everyone else can let their freak flag fly on Risa, and it's all good.
Just a thought...

Well, this proposal is basically predicated on "since they're obviously not going to give us the client-side opt-out that would take all the wind out of the party poopers' sails."
I'm quite against the segregation/ghetto "solutions," but if that's all we can get and it cuts down on how many people I have to hear crying about people using party toys on a planet devoted to partying then I'm willing to suck it up.
Added LOLwut Library room to the far side of the island.
- No party devices.
- No talking. You can only whisper to others.
- Inappropriate emotes have been disabled.
- Jumping has been disabled.
- Chairs are sittable. Sit in a chair and shut up.
So much fun!

You forgot to add in that 2015 only KDF ships are going to be sold.

That's not the worst part. Trust me, it's only a matter of time before one of...ah..."those people" quotes Tacofangs' post into another thread and starts trying to drum up support.
A 3 part event during the summer Risa event June, Vulcan Event July, and to end it an event attending betazoid weddings on betazed where upon beaming down whatever you are wearing is beamed off of you thanks to quark enterprises.

Kolinahr Week? One week of meditation and silence on Vulcan (justification for new/revamped map!) wearing traditional Vulcan outfits designed to induce calm (costumes to grind for!). Events could include the Hour of Silence, Meditation Medallion Hunt, letting a computer grill you as Spock did (movie tie-in!) and so on.
I like the cut of your jib, good sir. Perhaps a small garden could also be added along with an hourly event to watch the grass grow?
I'd say some paint to watch dry too, but some people might enjoy the fumes a bit too much.

Understanding it's a joke, a little disappointed at part of this.
For instance, while I'm of a "don't care" manner regarding party devices, the dance ball thing can be obnoxious and I'm okay with the ability to turn its effects off, much like I don't care one way or another about system messages flying across my screen but I'd still be happy to turn them off. =P
I like bouncing around places and being silly as much as anyone, and I like collecting the party poppers to spray around for kicks and giggles, but I have no problem if people want to turn certain things on or off. It's fun the first few times, but gets old after the ten-billionth time and all that.
Wouldn't matter if you told 'em or not it's a joke. The Serious Warriors cannot understand the concept of humor in Star Trek. They've all had their sense of humor surgically removed. These are the same guys that in that other game will only type in High Elven and are mad when no one gets it.:D
Actually, the Vulcans used to get pretty wild, and this went on for over a millennium after the departure of the proto-Romulans:

This sort of straw man of the position of people who have some concerns about the devices in question isn't helping. Personally, I have no problem with the things until certain people use a couple of the devices to stop other people from doing the Nerve Tonic Dance. I speak Romulan in STO. Do you have a problem with that? It's not my fault if you're a monoglot and/or a linguistic imperialist who thinks everyone should learn English to coddle the Anglo world's notorious laziness and sense of entitlement when it comes to visiting non-English-speaking regions.
You forgot the "Kash-wan reenactment", survive a day (1 hr real time, needs day/night cycle) in the rigorous Vulcan desert fighting the creatures of yore with nothing but a single L1 skill (at L1, no sneaking in a nanite health monitor III, lunge III, or quantum mortar III as your one skill), your racial traits & skill(s) and your level / HPs / shield strength reduced to L1 with no skill(s) / traits. 3 (successful) trips of this in the 7 day event earns you the "big prize"
And the Vulcan Wedding Ceremony (koon ut kal ifee?) - get picked by a random Vulcan to champion her/him in a PvP match to the knockout (if you're losing, your doctor will inject a sedative instead of tri-ox). Traditional Vulcan weapons only, use favors to get a higher grade one... Winning earns you both the favor and a date with the person who championed you, however, it's not Pon Farr season, so the date is a nice meatless lunch / dinner and long logical discussion...
