Bridge Officers + Maco Gear

I just received the Adapted Maco Armor and gave my old Maco Armor to my science officer and deleted the frequency remodulator but to my surprise the bridge officer doesnt use the Integral Frequency Remodulation.

What gives ?

    BOff's are limited on what abilities they can use. If it is a passive from a set, then it applies. Any active abilities are ignored.

    As per above, hence I keep remods on my Boffs. But I utterly agree, that Boffs not being able to use set gear abilities, is ludicrous. Not that they'd use them right, but at 'least' being able to use them, would be different.

    Ummm, whut?

    I've been using MACO and Omega and HG sets on Boffs for years. I see no indications their weapons have been adapted to when engaging the Borg. They still kill Borg just fine.
