It would be nice to add some interaction to the Doff mechanic which would add more variation to the game.

I was thinking for some doff assignments you would actually need to fly to the location and take part in some level of interaction for the missions

For example, for a medical doff mission where you have to send your dr to a war zone, you would fly to the system, fight through a blockade and beam down your dr. then when the assignment is complete you have to fly back and pick your dr up.

Not sure how you control it, obviously you can't have every doff assignment interactive but maybe just rare/very rare of anything above common.

    In those cases, I'd like to see that the mission is instantly completed as a reward. It provides more incentive for the player to complete them, especially missions like Strike Against Fugitive Support Network, Neutralise Klingon Interference, and Investigate Reports of Contraband Trafficking.
    They seem like fair missions to complete, but I'm not going to divert my ship to an Exploration Cluster just to defeat like four waves of Klingons repeatedly, or stun and capture a Vorta/Jem'Hadar escaped prisoner or do detective work to find contraband.

    That sounds more like a bridge officer mission rather than a duty officer mission.

    Though it does kind of sounds like it fits with a suggestion I made a couple of years ago that never went anywhere despite players seeming to like it.

    Some people don't care much for ground missions whereas some prefer ground missions. I suggested that on some/most of the quests, you get the option to beam down with an away team or send an away team.

    Basically it'd work like this:

    You arrive at a system and have to do something. Doesn't matter what at the moment. But there'd be a space component and a ground component. Say for example, you have to defeat a battleship of pirates that's harassing the local population. You'd have the option to fight the battleship -or- beam down to the surface to take care of the pirate soldiers on the ground while your ship battles the ship.

    It could be options like beam down and take care of a shield generator OR stay in orbit and take out a space station. Etc.
