Light turns green and there he goes, Captain Solo Guy is going to kick all 5 of the enemy asses by himself, while the rest of the team is still getting the powertray sorted out, launching pets, and generally waking up. Sure enough he gets killed about the time the rest of the team is working up-field, leaving them with 4v5 for the next couple of minutes. At that point its recoverable only if the other 4 are monsters that can win with a man short.
NO! Full impulse into the swarm. If your team has a healer, remember always stay at least 10.5km away from him at all times. Its one of the Pug Rules you know.

Would be nifty if Cryptic could straighten out some of the calc/recalc issues that take place with zoning, get all the loadout stuff squared away (it's a trip, I've had more issues since they fixed it than I did before they fixed it - some toons that had no issues are no having issues - meh), if they could have a stall period at the very start to give everybody the time for the warp in (it's a trip sometimes when my warp in completes and everybody's already gone - sometimes it's a bunch of us waiting for two guys that we know are there, they're just not there yet)...
You know, honestly, it's hard to bother with anything outside of doing a daily box here and there in PvE...and then just finding something else to do.

dont be that guy that crawls to the middle of the map as slowly as possible, that can cause an unintended spawn camp. that guys worse
I agree. KDF have always jetted across to engage the Feds (granted it was w/cloaks or cloaking support). Personally, I go for the player on the other side who's lagging behind in the rear of their team. Tends to split the other team up, one group comes after me while they other is caught up w/my side's slow boaters.
OP, this is one of the downsides of the shared faction queues. I never understood why feds slow boated it away from their spawn. Even if they wanted time to group up they should move away from the spawn. Anyway KDF usually rush to the other side. Get used to it like, KDF have to get used to crappy damage from random Fed slowboat pugmates.

Uh yeah even I rush to scout the other side when I've got a cloak.
I'm talking about Kirk in a brand new FPEr charging right into the enemy formation, 40k away from the rest of the team. When that happens, it turns into 4v5 pretty quick.
I'd add to the list the recluses that heal themselves alone and run "some power" in weapon subsystem. Also those who don't follow you, stay away, ignore you, continue switching targets, complain and cheesus presence.
Anyway, it is true. many people don't even have any goal or target when playing solo q and they q for team q as well, then you get full premade vs kirkmade, but i'm not against it. it gives people challenge and chance to rise above improbable-impossible odds.

Don't you just love it when they are low on health and try to run? They could run *towards* you, but no. They prefer to run off in exactly the opposite direction with the rest of the enemy team chasing them down.

What a shame that Kirk, the greatest captain Starfleet ever had, has turned into an insult... Kirk was a team player, he would have been nothing without Spock, McCoy or Scotty.

I found that having a keybind that announces into team chat "STAY WITHIN 10km OF ME" seems to decrease the occurrence of this happening. I also have another key that announces if my current healing target is out of heal range.
Maybe if I used creative insults, they would be more inclined to run towards the healer instead of away? Say, "Stay within 10km of me, you airheads!", or "Stay within 10km of me, or (damage) resistance is futile". Hmm?

ppl go in PUG with all kinds of different expectations.
Yesterday i had one solo Q writing in team chat at start :"Stay Here". Like, you know, at spawn.
Needless to say when me and fleet mate started going away he wrote: "OMG i said stay here" and then he died as much as he could.
So, even the balancing system would be wrong with this kind of people in the mix.
System would have no other choice then to segregate players who actually play from pure AFK grinders unique to MMOs. And then we would get another dil grind/AFK fest like it is on private diligram games and like it was before s7.

Oh, yeah, I usually announce my healerness too. But more often than not, people just ignore it and I end up flying back and forth between teammates trying to patch them up, because they fly away from eachother too. In the end, though, /shrug. It's a pug, so I knew it would happen.

Well, ppl will always run away from you if you are a dedicated healer in the solo or duo arena. You can do nothing about, it's like an internal rule of the classic pug: "oh look, i have an extend shield on me" => "escape, warp speed 9 captain"
Writing in chat "stay close" it's useless most of the times
"oh look, i have an extend shield on me" => "escape, warp speed 9 captain"
LOL nando, and shame that's true.
There is a flip side as well. Unless i actually know the healer by name i won't rely AT ALL of getting any heals.
Many of them build recluses, cruisers etc for self-healing only. Easy to see in log report and in actual play.
And then they proceed to tap themselves on the back with: "see, I didn't die at all, how tanky am I 1!!13!37"
Also, i would rather have a clearer on team then healer on team any time-all the time.
Heals wont help if you get dual-triple snbd and you just need one simple TT1 or HE1 when in plasma. Getting clear is way, way harder then getting heal in PUG.
(BTW yeah, I understood what you meant with "tanked like a boss" i didn't even saw you there on edge of screen when thalaron fired, nice )

If you're the only healer and the enemy team catches on to that, using those heals for yourself isnt that surprising. There's nothing worse than flying around patching up your teammates, blowing your proverbial wad, as I think Hus put it, and getting focused on yourself whilst getting nothing from your teammates in return. Working on my Engy with a Recluse for that reason: the self-preservation back-up in pugs.
But I know that's not what you mean. People will go into pugs, share none of their heals and just use them for themselves in the off-chance they need it. Which is silly, of course. After a while, no-one is going to shoot the tank-cluse and just focus on the tacs.

Ahah yeah, a "gentle clearer" role instead of a full healer in a pug team is good enough, but, personally, when i use my healer kron, i don't always know the level of the players i will met in arena: for example, there are players who need, as you said, just a tt when necessary and few heals after all, BUT there are player who need full support because they don't even know the existence of tt, and it's tedious i'd say -_-"
Btw, players who claim "see, I didn't die at all, how tanky am I 1!!13!37" are just useless :P
Again there's a faction playstyle mismatch. Hit and Run builds aren't built to stick around when under focus fire. They're meant to run and preferably get chased, cloak and set up another attack run. This spreads a team out making it easier to kill targets. Traditional Fed style was to stick together, but KDF wasn't.

It gives 60% chance to win Arena Match by yourself.
There are also Engineer Doffs that reduces cooldown to Kirking.
They are very rare quality and cost 100m EC on exchange.
Also can be obtainable via special Captain Kirk Lockbox.
Stackable up to 3 times.
