Summer Event Stratagy,what's yours?

What would be a good strategy to run this years Summer Event to try and maximize returns with multiple toons? What say ye? And thanks

    To stay as far away from the grind as possible.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Already has been said, but just do the long grind on one toon (while accumulating on alts) and get the discounted grind on the other once them main toon is done. Plain and simple. Topic ended.

    Play the game, enjoy the festival, watch in amusement and roll my eyes as the overly-zealous foam at the mouth about all the evil people using party toys at the summer party.

    It's not started yet, so how is someone going to have a strategy yet?

    It's the same strategy as last year. Plus the discount. But since it's on project slotting instead of grinding itself, the grind remains the same. You just get 2 ships instead of 1, and maybe leftovers to save for next year so you get the next new thing on day 1.

    Not going to bother with the ship grinds. If the cruiser had a custom interior, I would have, but no. I'll probably grind for everything else though. :D

    My strategy is to take my summer in game holiday on Drozana. With swimwear restricted to Risa all the ERPers and the like will probably spend their time on Risa oogling their characters pixels while I can sit back, relax and wait for those nut things to drop in price on the exchange at Drozana.

    Not gonna bother with getting a luxury cruise liner, think I'll stick with a Galaxy class starship, one of the finest ships there is and it's hardly gonna be out classed by some Risian yacht.

    Just get a hoverboard, play with it until I get bored, than ignore the event and grind STFs, they give better rewards.

    There are no other items worth getting, unless you want to farm monkeys for marks.

    Swimwear is Risa only, so its useless.

    New ship has no new interior, no new mechanic like the Breen Raider so its useless unless you are a romulan who wants a cruiser with a warp core.
    Even than, you are better off with a Galor or Talshiar cruiser, or an apex or Monbosh....
    Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    I suppose I will grind for the "luxury liner" for my 3 toons. If it turns out that they suck, then I will just delete them.

    Swimwear? What's the point if it is only wearable on Risa. Plus giving orders on the bridge while wearing swimwear sounds stupid.

    See what the discounts actually turn out to be. Take it from there. Usually the Winter/Summer Events leave me not wanting to play the game...

    Try to get a set of all the Risian birds for my main characters. And a floater for the character I made after the last event. That's about it. Cruiser went flat for me after they said there would be no special interior.

    Now it was known last year that those Risan birds can be turned in for a good source of Marks of your choice, making the Floaters a good return on investment... It remains to be seen if there is any profit for getting those Feathered Monkeys and the investment in that Flying Surfboard...

    My strategy is as follows:

    DO NOTHING. AVOID RISA AT ALL COSTS. I'll be content farming where I know I will get what I need in due time, instead of having X-days to do something and then have a server meltdown ruin it for me. Nope... Not even the H.M.S. Titanic In Space beckons hard enough for me to throw myself into the grind. However, I may have to rename one of ships to the U.S.S. Bloody Iceberg, coming soon to a queue near you :D

    The lack of information prevents me from having a full-fledged plan right now. I do know that I'm not interested in the ships though.

    Swimwear is also not interesting if the prices are really that high as someone saw on Tribble. Why grind like crazy for something that has no real value after the event is gone, there is nothing to do on Risa.

    So, that leaves bird/monkey farming. I have to see if I can actually get the Undine marks for 26 characters (3 are finished, just need the sponsor tokens for the rest). That's 625 marks per character.

    Last year I spend one vening on Risa. I wasn't interested in any items. The map though is really great and I enjoyed exploring it.

    have fun get my ship tell all the crybabies to shut the heck up about the no new bridge cause in all honesty never get ur hopes up with cryptic i for one can live with no new bridge as long as the ship is good.

    Found a discount seller for the Disco Balls, Only 80 latinum each. I stocked up on 60 of them.

    with the discount you only have to do the full grind on one. Thats all Im doing.

    Collect eggs and whatnot for the birds and monkeys, might collect favours to get the escort on some of my other chars (thanks to the discount), though I wont be bothering with the cruiser.

    Also might get one piece of swimwear on my main, just to say I have one..

    Personally, I'm going to collect and sell favors. It's a grind, yes. But at least it's a lucrative grind. The event slot dealy...well, I didn't do it last year and I'm probably not going to do it this year, either.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    I still think Risa is the prettiest map ever created for STO. I love the environment, I love the floaters and want to check out the fun stuff -- that's my strategy, have fun. I've already been camped out on Risa on my main character for the last week and a half anyways. My main is already maxed out on the reps, maxed out on doffing, has gobs of marks to burn for dil. So what else am I going to do with him besides ride around on a hoverboard and breed a zoo's worth of monkeys?


    Don't really care about a new ship, I like the one I got. Not going to bother with alts.
