Well the game is not that complex, VD. All you need to know is that teamwork is OP. Your PvP performance is always going to depend on that.
The math, the excel spreadsheet, it's all very useful to find bugs I guess. Beyond that? Who knows.
The game is extremely complex, imho. Just because one can hop in an automatic car and drive around town doesn't mean that the engineering of the automobile is not complex...
It's a matter of perspective. With that logic, everything is complex one way or another, even some inert brick is complex at the atomic levels with weird orbitals and interactions of molecular compounds inside the brick.
Someone on these forums said it first, this game is becoming sort of like a mobile app, like a flash game. I tend to agree.
But that's the thing, you can make jokes about Geko wanting STO to be something puppies can play on iPads...but it doesn't take away from the complexity being there. Just because somebody doesn't need to know it, doesn't mean it's not there to know and that knowing it is a definite advantage.
With the little bit I know, if I weren't such a TRIBBLE pilot, I might be dangerous...
I'd say yes. its oftsn more about skill and prowess than equip. My lvl 43 took out lots a people in 1v1's, and my tactical fed kitty can successfully do 5v1's and come out the winner with room to spare. Honestly I've seen many a people with t5 rep and shiny equip, and me and my t4-or-below tools just WRECK em, because what counts in the end is planning knowing what abilities to use and when, And even when to (yes) roll or dodge.
The boss being a gigantic Winter Epohh Researcher. As you lay waste to the Epohh Horde, she can occasionally cry out things like, "Didn't you want an Epohh friend?"
Would be nice if PvP forums would have a moderator that actually plays pvp not a PvE hero or a roleplayer that has no clue what people talk about. This is pure lack of respect for people's money.Last time I checked pvp players spend money in game so I expect equal treatment with PvE players.

I totally agree ! btw you should be moderator
FaW+DEM+AtB in pvp = High score , no skill.
PVP 2014 - Fawn00bs,Vapers and leavers...
Not really, you get some sci friends to help immobilize and cripple your targets, they let you know a sub nuke sensor has been applied and you just need to be ready to unleash your mayhem. Practice makes perfect obviously, preferably a computer that has excellent fps. Doesn't matter if your dps is 10k or 15k or 20k, you still kill your target the same. Teamwork is OP!
The various ways to immobilize.
The various ways to break that immobilization.
The various ways to cripple a target.
The various ways to heal that crippling.
The various ways to debuff a target.
The various ways to clear debuffs.
The various ways to apply damage.
The various ways to resist and heal damage.
There's a reason that you can oft watch five ships beating on one ship going nowhere when sometimes a tandem or even single ship can take out that same ship.
There are ways to prevent the other teams to react or retaliate to a alpha strike + sub nuke. Kind of tacky but it works. Something like AMSin' and shocking healers right before. Double sensor and nuke on the target, a kill is guaranteed most of the time, dies within 5 seconds on CRF lol.
Thing is, almost everything Team A can do to Team B to get the kill - Team B can do to Team A to prevent the kill. It's a dance. It's just situational awareness and experience.
Perhaps too many folks focus on how to get the kill without spending time thinking about all the ways they have died - what the other person did - what they did - what they could have done differently.
It's like the Thissler videos - I always said those were great - not as "How-To" videos but as "What-Not-To-Do" videos. Watch what the targets did - the reactions they had - don't do that...sort of thing.
You mentioned SNB and Scan for the kill...I'm more likely to use SNB and Scan (DOFF'd) to prevent the other team getting a kill than in helping get a kill. I prefer attrition - I prefer folks becoming predictable - and just dealing with it that way...keep your team alive - keep your side unpredictable - leave the other team to make the mistakes and then capitalize on it.
It's really tough for me to do the "team" thing most of the time - cause following the "team" can be such a distraction from everything that's going on. I get tunnel vision - I miss things. Target X gets called - folks are focused on that - looking at where the heals are - and they go in...but are they leaving themselves open while doing that? What if they take out Target X but lose two folks in the process? What if while they're going after Target X, Target Y or Z gets left exposed?
There's a dance - there's a flow to combat...it's trancelike.
Squishy you say? Last time I played against you, you had the most deaths on your team and lowest damage with zero heals to any of your teammates. Kettle, meet pot, you both suck.

2pc Breen Mk XI > 2pc Nukara Mk XII
Yet folks keep asking for a Breen Mk XII.
Trippy, eh?
yeah, but I think most just want purple mk XII to show in their inventory.
It's funny how often that's the case in so many games...gots to gets mah epics!

3x Risian Corvettes and 2x Risian Luxury Cruisers or 3x Risian Luxury Cruisers and 2x Risian Corvettes?
:P
edit: And yeah, you can tell what kind of game this is by the replies in the thread giving the stats of the boat.
Will there be a custom bridge?
Will there be a pool?
Can we wear our swimsuits there?
It's one of those things that leaves me with the urge slowly to walk away form the game and deny I ever played it...
Meh, haven't run that in forever. Couldn't use it under so many things that it was kind of pointless...meh.
Still though, picture the following:
Fluidic away, pop a Barrier Field, then Feign Death...announcing in zone that the treasure's just on the other side of the wall!
Yeah, I'm a goofball...I think it's funny.
I once died 14 times and made all 15 kills in a match, boohoo.
Whats cookin?
