Undine PVE-Any way to fly faster?

In the sphere, one can purchase engine upgrades that allow for faster travel. Is there anything I can do to fly better in the Undine PVE?

My ship tends to get caught in those big yellow blobs with tentacles, and I cannot seem to escape easily. My hull % goes down and down. First, I tried full engine power and somehow seemed to be pulled backwards towards the blobs. Then I thought, "Hey, I'll use the evasive maneuver skill, which gives you much more speed and agility for about 8 seconds. That should do it." Nope, almost no effect.

What are you doing to avoid losing hull and to escape those fluidic space traps?

Is there any other way to travel faster in the Undine PVE, specifically, Viscous Cycle?

Is anyone having any success with escort/heavy cannon builds in the new Undine PVE? Those darn Undine seem to fly too fast for my 45 degree targeting cannons.

Thanks!

The rift alone you should be able to escape from with just evasive, or emergency power to engines or attack pattern omega. But if you get hit with the goo blobs, even those powers won't save you. Hit your hazard emitters to clear the blob from your hull, and then hit the other ability. The 8472 reputation engine also helps.

Aux2Damp helps quite a bit as well.

Strangely enough, you need to use something like Hazard Emitters instead of the usual standbys of Evasive or Polarize Hull to break free of the gravitational holes (like you described - the tentacle stuff).

That'll break you free immediately, so you can just fly away under your own power.

    Thanks for the assistance, guys.

I searched the web and found something about the Undine faction engines also making a difference in that PVE. Is that true?

What about the last question. Has anyone had any luck using dual heavy cannons with the either Undine PVE? The Undine cruisers are very fast, and it sure looks like everyone is using beams.

    Thanks again.

Attack Pattern Omega gives you immunity to all movement-impairing effects. When I use that, I can fly through fluidic puddles at full speed. You need a Lt. Commande or Commander tac BOff to use it though.

Aux2damp may work if you have an Lieutenant or Lt. Commander engineer BOff. I don't have much experience with it, so I don't know for sure if it will work.

So, what I want to know is:

When are Cryptic introducing an Antihistamine Console or Immune System Skill, to help us avoid/escape form Undine Snot Balls?

The Sphere has speed boasts for the Voth and should work for the Undine zone

The only thing Polarized Hull will do against the yellow poo is give you resists, because if you linger around inside the poo too long, they start damaging quite a bit. Not a problem if you're a properly built Cruiser, but lighter ships can't afford to get stuck too long.

There's 3 techniques to get out of the Yellow Poo Mess.

    1. Don't fly into them. Harder to do with Cruisers and Carriers, but Escorts should not really be caught up in them much at all.

    2. Attack Pattern Omega... but very expensive to use as an "escape" instead of offense.

    3. Hazard Emitters and Evasive Maneuvers right away.

does the t'liss warbird in the battlezone count if so then yep my plasma build works ok but not gonna bother with the undine "stfs" thers no pooint seing as you get more rewards from doing the battlezone but the one time i did do one i used my scimitar and that was "rocking" around 2 much [ almost got sea sick lol]

EPtS/EPtE combined with the Keel'el doff. I can fly through snot bubbles and hitting one of those almost always clears it.
