i found myself with a good amount of EC an decided to by a ship. What i bought was the Tal Shiar destroyer. This was my choice for a few resons mostly being that it is evil looking, which i like, has four tac console slots, a cloak(i rarely fly ships without cloaks.) and ok turn rate. (turn rate is why i didnt get the talshiar battle crusier.)
Now i have seen this ship be VERY good. and output enough Burst to vape HARD although the isnt my goal.
i am a tactical romulan captain with a full Rom OP crew and i am looking for advice in a biuld for this ship.
I SUGGEST a DHC build, rom plasma for PVE and protonic polaron for PVP. KCB, assimilated module, Rommie torp and ZPEC to cut down on power drain, Adapted KHG space set, elite fleet warp core. That ought to hit 10k DPS with decent boffs.

would i not get more DPS out of AP considering as a rom i can now get the AP two piece with this ship? i can get crit rates above 23%.
Also, ive been considering single cannons for "time-on-target" because i dislike beams. is this a bad idea? i COULD do AP beams......
Unless you use DBBs, a beam boat isn't going to cut it in PVP, just from a DPS perspective. Maybe if you were flying a space whale, but not in a nimble ship like that destroyer.
DHCs are good on a fast ship like that. Protonic polaron has a hull damage proc and the standard polaron proc, it'll tear the hell out of the opposition. Fleet tac consoles, assimilated module, Dyson console, plasmonic leech for sure, maybe the ZPEC. If memory serves, it has the sci capabilities to run tractor beams and/or grav well; try tractoring enemies and hammering them with cannons. Get a good fleet warp core, elite definitely. Get the Adapted KHG full set; the graviton beam ought to help hold enemies, and you'll have the resilient shield and stuff to go with...
Rear, use turrets and KCB. Valdore console is a must. RSP is my personal favorite I-win button; the temporary invincibility, plus a science team or two to help remove debuffs, will be lethal. Make sure to have at least one of all three "team" powers.
I run a similar build (protonic polarons, Valdore console, fleet tac consoles, EC drone ships for backup) on my Scimitar, and I've soloed a JHDC and won. A buddy runs the whole deal on his scimmy with the elite drone ships; it's badass.
The TSAD has turn rate on the scimmy, but it's weaker and doesn't have the backup. Fleet neutronium consoles (+HullHp and +HullRepair) are good, as is DEM, which helps deal direct hull damage. Threat control is a useful skill to get ranks in for the damage resistance, since you're going to be doing PVP instead of PVE.

only the case if your ship is fast with a turn rate of 14 or better. this isnt this ship. plus i have found that beams, when Acc is stacked, CAN hit the target and you have more time on target. but this is my findings when in kerrat.

this sounds like good advice.

here i believe your mistaken. for one this ship cant use the valdore console. and that is out. I do have leech however. i am using one of each team power and i have found this to be a good healing set up.

My 2 cents.
the polaron might be good considering the sensor analysis this ship has but i still think AP might just more DPS. i will however test both out.
i want it to be tanky and hard to kill. to soak up DPS while giving DPS. tactical that have worked well are dropping shields for a TS2 hit with the Grav torp. Nine bars in Part. gens and the other one that aids pull. (forgets name.) thinking of using the adapted shield and deflector for the added torp dmg.

No, no, no, no, no.
You need DBBs or DHCs fore and turrets+KCB aft. The TSAD is a scidestroyer/escort, not a FAWmitard.
Replace FAW with BO or CSV, swap Aux2SIF for RSP 1 (which is like an invincibility button if you use it right) OR another EPTS.
That will boost your DPS and actual firepower (IE how much of that DPS is actually effective and isn't just drawing random aggro) while keeping your aux power high enough for the grav well and other science abilities to be effective.

It's a pvp build...
In with case, it looks pretty decent. I'd put a sci team in there for the emergency cleanse but overall, looks pretty decent.
Maybe a swap of eptw for epte...but that could be a personal preference thing.
The DPS is way too low for a PVP build, though. DBBs on a ship with that turn rate will be a lot better.
Dps is a concern here. but i have been running into A LOT of fast movers. Hirogen escorts, bugs and the like. This ship is NEVER going to out turn them so went with weapons which could have more time on target despite not turning as much as the do. I have tried DBB, which didnt really seem to hit hard enough, and DHC which hit hard enough but other plyers would dance in and out of the arcs...
I tested it in Undine Assault before a kerrat run and it Tanked all but the dreads. shots were in the 1000 range. i dont have parser though. I have herd the they are unreliable though, using them to build isnt the wisest.
Beams seemed like a good way to put dps on target without turning alot. With the 360 beam and KCB, i have 5 weapons firing forward, AND a torp. But i can also broadside as well, only the rear is poorly covered and i can turn well enough to keep that away from the target more of the time but if there is a way, say BOFF powers, to increase the DPS, im all for it.
If it helps I rather like this build, the U.S.S. Snowflake And before the Dyson set (I like the hull effect), it used essentially High guard for the torpedo bonus.

It may be powerful, but a I-win button which might proc at the wrong time when you have shields at 100% and not proc when you need it most? lol
That requires quite a bit of bad luck, since it has no proc lockout like similar powers have, so it procs almost continually if you have a decent firerate and a 6+ energy weapons. It is an I-Win button (well, passive) in CCE if you're the only Romulan in the match with one since that event scores healing, even when the healing goes to full shields.

Well I can't help if that event doesn't score right :P It's not like I've ever got anything I'd ever use out of it when I've hit first on my Romulan or KDF characters...

I like cannons but i have found the shape of the ship makes aiming DHC weird....
PVP for sure.
Non auxbat. i hate that TRIBBLE.
i am casting budget to the wind.

The TSAD is not a Warbird...

3 damage control doffs, marion, keel'el warp core doff and one of your choice...bo bleed through doff perhaps.
Engines are the counter command variety. Site doesn't have then yet.
Style is the typical "one of" pvp style...it's not what I like but it's the "smart" way of doing it
Dem could be swapped for rsp.
No need for BO, was a way to finish of your target with a little extra burst
You don't need tb, but it's a useful (almost cheater) ability. As I'm sure you know.
Feedback pulse or gravity well could find a home...both are a preference choice
Ya...it's not too bad I'd say...then again I'm more pver then pvp.
Cheers

Oh, man, that sucks.
The Valdore console is the lynchpin of 99% of Romulan ship builds; that thing's practically an "I-win" button...
What are some improvements?

It definitely needs a sci team.

There is a sci team.....its Haz. emitters 1, Sci team 2, GW1.

It having Borg sensor arrays is the stated reason.
Thank you!
