I was assessing my progress on Diplomacy and according to my calculations, I have to do another 75 missions of around 200 DXP each that averages 20 hours to complete.
This is my 3rd time on Diplomacy (4th if we count Maruading) and I'm getting beyond bored with it.
So as a solution to the tediousness of doffing, I think a system similar to the Sponsorship Token for Reputation should be introduced.
That if one character has reached T4 in a DOFFing field, they can create a token and use the account bank to transfer it to the character who needs the boost.
But given the low rewards of DOFFing, I think the boost would actually have to be a factor of 10 increase, not a factor of 2.
In Reputation, the RXP rewards double (2500 to 5000).
For DOFFing, it should be increased from 200 to 2000 (if you are doing 20 hour missions exclusively).
If this system was adopted, it might motivate me to do other DOFFing fields on sucessive characters.
Because of the many DOFFing fields, I've decided to ignore all but Diplomacy/Maruading from now on, as it's the only one that matters to me.

Just no, this is a terrible idea.
Doffing is totally different to the rep system and should never be handled the same.
In the rep system your missions stop at 100k, it doesn't in Doffing. I should imagine it is far too hard to program the system to cancel any bonus when you hit 100k in CXP
Also 10x the amount bonus?? on some off missions if you crit you'd get 28k cxp (Dyson Sphere Space) if your bonus was 10x that amount you'd complete recruitment or development tiers in one mission
May I suggest you instead maybe invest in better doffs to increase your crit chance, and also think about buying some 10,000 cxp bonus pool items from the exchange, these give 10% extra cxp until used.
If anything you should request more Diplomacy missions from the devs, not trying to alter the whole concept just to benefit you so you can get to tier 4 faster
Personally I have 10 toons and am finding it okay going getting them to tier 4 just using cxp bonus pools to help out
True, the overcap should (obviously) not be doubled, but leveling up the doff things is hard enough on one.
But that overcap issue can be solved quiet simple: Double the requirements for fleet marks and then let the character use his sponsorship token for himself if he wants.
Or just make the sponsorship token half the requirements for leveling up instead of doubling the income.

Actually, I think a better solution would be more interesting diplomacy missions. My Marauding CXP is always high on all my toons because of my insatiable need for more contraband and prisoners (and ultimately, dilithium). The Diplomacy missions right now are all kinds of dull. How 'bout some diplomacy missions in OL where we have to try and fix the bridge

Diplomacy/Marauding is the only one that offers significant tangible rewards upon hitting T4; so yeah it's worth to prioritize that. However, I find all the various other fields tend to offer *something* - engineering offers constant vendor trash; Medical offers offer liberated Borg Doffs; trade and development offer contraband and Shakespeare, and you need recruitment to grind down doffs from colonial chains for your starbase....
I am using the best DOFFs I could acquire for Diplomacy, I think a good proportion of my crew is now purple or blue Diplomats/Advisors/Security Officers with a small number of greens to carry the excess workload if I should happen to find extra missions.
So they have a pretty high crit chance, but apparently it's not enough.
And yesterday was a bad day, I think I'd hit all the 20hour missions too efficiently and put most of them on cooldown, so there was actually nothing to do whatsoever!
And apparently the Devs have acknowledge alting is tedious, otherwise they wouldn't have thrown us the bone of Sponsorship tokens.
By the way, this was the number one response when players were asked why they don't make alts.
As to why a Sponsorship token makes it less boring, it does not.
But it reduces the amount of time you have to invest in doing it.
For a comparative analysis, on a Rep Sponsored Captain, I spend one month going to Rep T5, not two.
Hypothetically, if I'd had the proposed Sponsorship Bonus, I'd have finished by now.
I did use the Bonus CXP DOFF, but that turned out to be absolutely useless.
A 3% reward won't even be noticable and that was a blue DOFF.
I checked out the purple DOFF to see if they were better and all you get is 4% with that one.
So I won't be using those in the future.
Especially since they bind to character and can't be reused.
And yes, I do have a supply of those bonus CXP boosts, but not very many, so I've saving them for a new character I have in mind who will do DOFFing more extensively then this character, as they'll really need them!
To re-emphasize, the other DOFFing fields offer me nothing.
I analyzed what I did on my first 3 characters and as soon as I hit T4, I stopped doing those assignments period.
The DOFFs I gained from each tier unlock are never used at this point.
The only assignments I pursue are the ones that can give me new DOFFs or BOFFs.
Colony chains, Gul Tain, Project Chrysalis and the El-Aurian Bartender mission.
The Shakespeare one is wearing thin my patience because it consistently fails to crit, even though I have put all my purples on it and they each have two crit traits each.
The Special Deal on Entertainment Provisions never seems to be found consistently enough, so I gave up on trying to do that one.
I do the Haggle for Gamma Quadrant items (Ketracel white, jevonite, shapeshifting lockets, tulaberries) when I find them though, because it gives you something useful for completing them.
Which is why I decided to put the other 10 fields aside, it's just a waste of time/assignment slots to do something I am not interested in.

Regarding Diplomacy, I agree that more interesting missions should be made available. It would actually be nice if the "contraband" diplomatic missions appeared a little more often. That would be a start. For every 1 contraband my Fed toon can earn, my KDF toon can earn 10 - 12 contraband if not more.
For me, Recruiting is the slowest to advance.
Many of the commendations on my Fed toon are at level 4. I think there's 5 commendations that are still level 3. As for my KDF toon, Maraudering, Military and Espionage are level 4. Everything else is level 2. I might have a couple that are level 3, but not sure.
I think DOffs should still be available to lower ranking characters. Now, unfortunately, they've been relegated to endgame grinding. Shame.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
I start my doffing at level 11, roughly equivalent to the second level of Lieutenant Commander.
I know this for a fact because I have a low level alt whose sole purpose is to store excess doffs I am not using and this character does not level up at all.
Of course, the sheer amount of DXP required means I'm at level cap way before I've made any serious progression with Diplomacy.
So technically, you are right, I am doing it at endgame grinding.

Doffs are available @ level 11 as stated by the person before me.
However, due to the amount of XP required to level each commendation to max, you will still be trying to max them out long after you have reached level 50. I believe I only have 4 or 5 commendations that are not at level 4 for my Fed toon; the remaining are level 3. My KDF toon has Maraudering, Military and Espionage maxed out, the rest are either at level 2 or 3 so I have a long way to go before maxing out everything... especially since I am focusing on maraudering missions for contraband.
