Boffs no longer using set abilities

Anyone else notice ever since the new season boffs won't use set abilities anymore? I have a boff with the full omega force set, and during season 8 I've seen him use the distortion field ability in the voth battlezone. I'm doing the new Assimilation episode now and he won't use the built in frequency remodulator (my other boffs with the device will use it normally) and I've never seen him use distortion field since the patch either. :confused:

    BOFF AI seems totally borked of late. They seem to rarely use their abilities and no longer revive their fallen friends very often.

    Yes, the BOff AI is totally messed up at the moment.

    Yesterday I gave one of my BOffs a stack of five hyposprays to use before I beamed down to a planet for a mission. We beamed down (all BOffs had 100% health) and I watched as the BOff used all FIVE hypos within a few seconds immediately after we beamed down ... a total waste.

    NR has been the worst for this in my experience, I've seen my jem'hadar use as much white as I gave him before ever firing a shot

    No I'm 100% sure they don't. I pull packs of borg and let my boffs go at them, the boffs with the devices remodulate eventually but the one with the set never do.

    Exactly! I was going to write about this and the Assimilation episode, which I rerun daily, but thank you.

    My BOFF's no longer remodulate their MACO and Omega sets w/o an actual remodualtor. And they do not use any of the armor set abilities (Voth, MACO, Omega, though my Jem Hader does cloak often) in Assimilated. I brought in my Borg Officer along today by accident and he remodulates every 15-20 seconds.

    Indeed it is VERY much not just you. The BOFFs act like they all were replaced by Undine who want you to fail or got shot with a Stupid Ray or something.

    Hmm. I wonder how long it'll take to fix this, but melee is still completely stupid so I'm not optimistic.

    Tactical Boffs are ok, but I'm noticing it's really bad with science Boffs. They won't use healing abilities. Haven't tested engineering Boffs.

    I just said the hell with it and went with a all tac away team... and I'm tactical.

    To be honest the boff AI in this game is appalling at the best of times. I basically assume my boffs are not going to use most of their abilities so I have them on my own power tray to activate them myself.
    Bizarrely the boffs will happily use all of the hypos you give them in one go though, then promptly get killed once they run out!

    What drives me up the walk though is their lack of situational awareness and evasive actions when in danger. I mean in the Voth BZ I've lost track of how often I have to res my boffs when they fail to move out if the way of an incoming mortar attack and get blown to pieces. :rolleyes:

    Everything you say is true BUT they always did used to use their abilities... Not always well but medics for instance would cast their heals. (Annoyingly they would do it to healthy people sometimes and hated to heal themselves) Right now BOFFs will hardly use anything especially medics.

    Hm. I remember noticing that my boffs have been getting out of the battlezone mortar markers this season. They'll stand around the edge of the circle even if there's something to shoot on the far side.

    Yeah but how do you put set abilities on the power tray? I'd like to have my boffs use the integrated remodulator instead of just standing around for the team ambush field boost to everyone else and only an AI revert/fix is going to do anything there.

    I dout they will get fixed, as this has been a issue for a long time, and its also silly how slow they shoot, i mean i gave them the same gun as me and they shoot it very slow....
