Embarrassing Noob question about Fleet ships.

I'm a pretty casual gamer, so dont quite get how everything works all the time.

I have the Fleet Avenger. If I buy the standard C-Store Avenger then that comes with the V.A.T.A module right? Would I be able to use that on my Fleet Avenger?

Thanks for any answers/

Yes, any special console that comes on the C-Store Tier 5 ships can be used on their fleet versions as well.

You can indeed, however I'm not sure the console is worth the cost in Zen.
I have ditched the console on all of my Avenger builds. There are much more useful reputation consoles that can be used in its place.

Edit: Just a thought, you'd be able to use the nacelle wings of the C-Store variant on your fleet avenger too.

The rep consoles? It depends on your build really. The borg assimilated console for one. I tend to have that on all builds (Boosts weapons power) but I also have that in conjunction with the borg deflector and engines for the added set bonus. I cant remember all the others but I'm sure someone else can dive in and suggest something that would better grace a slot than the VATA.

I'm not in game right now but I'd be glad to share some build info with you later when I'm online, drop me a line in game @nyxadrill.

I myself made this mistake when I first started playing. ANYTIME you think you may want a fleet ship and theres a C-store variant of that ship. Look FIRST at the C-store ship and decide if it comes with anything that you may want to use on the Fleet version. If there is a item that you want NEVER buy the Fleet ship first. Always but the C-store ship First because when you do it usually ( very few exceptions) lowers the cost of the Fleet ship to 1 Fleet Module.

    Quick Recap.
    1. C-store ship has a useful item that adds extra abilitys or weapons to the Fleet Version.
    2. You like the console or weapon.
    3. ALWAYS BUY the C-store ship FIRST!!!!!!!!!!
    4. Buying the C-store ship lowers the Cost of the Fleet version to 1 Module.
    5. If done the other way around you will spend 20k fleet credits and 4 modules first for fleet ship
Then you will spend 2500 Zen for the C-store ship just for the console and/or weapon. In total
You have just waisted 1500 Zen that you could have used to buy 13 keys or another lower
Teir C-store ship and got another console or/and weapon.
    6. Final Verdict. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS BUY THE ZEN SHIP FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's worth noting, however, that Fleet Modules can be bought from the Exchange. For fairly high prices (12 million plus a time) but you can theoretically get a Fleet Hull without spending any dilithium or Zen.

That said, hyefather's advice is sound, especially for ships with integrated abilities that will often cost 5 modules rather than 4.

Of you are ever curiuos if any console can be used on any ship the info/details of said console should list what ships it is restricted to ingame.

V.A.T.A. is honestly pretty awful, even if you go all in on projectile weapons.

I only bought the Fleet Avenger... and on my main toon only. Its nice... but that VATA console is useless on my AP Beam build so it made no sense for me to buy the CStore version

Like with Excelsior Retrofit. C-Store is for 2000 Zen, Fleet variant is 5 modules if you don't own it. In such situation you're clearly better with buying C-Store and then Fleet that in the end will cost the same ZEN wise, but it's account wide.

I agree. If you are going for a Fleet ship, get the C-Store ship first, no matter what.

If you want an alternate (alt) character to have the same Fleet ship, guess what?... Because you got the C-Store ship previously (C-Store ships are available with ALL characters on your account with one purchase) you, again, need one one Fleet module for that alt.

Always get the C-Store ship first!

I have a Fleet Avenger but not the C-Store Avenger and and I have access to both pylon varients.

Oh really? I didn't realize it came with both variants. I've still to get the fleet version but I will soon. However I do have the fleet version of the KDF alternative, the Mogh and I absolutely adore that ship!

When I want a ship, I grind dilithoum for it and get the c-store variant first, if only because it is an account-wide unlock in case I ever want to play another character. The 1 fleet module is available on the exchange for EC which you can accumulate in one or two weeks. I would never pay money or grind dil for weeks and months for a single character unlock :)
