Sometime at the end of last year I noticed that my DPS seemed to be capped on my tactical officer. I have now confirmed this using the combat log reader & other methods.
The final straw is I just tested it on CGE and found that my adapted pulse wave & photon grenades now have the same damage value (on average if not less) than a standard shot from the pulse wave rifle!?
Which now makes the special's useless!
Fully buffed I used to be able to normally hit above 1.5k from the grenades or the special from my fleet sniper rile. But something is now seriously wrong.
It's really not fair as other players still seem to have their same DPS (engineers still able to take out anything in one with their mines & bombs). But it's like someone has just come along and Nurfed my characters weapons!.

If your using the new combat log reader then that's your first fault as its not designed for ground combat, I've seen it parse someone in negative numbers before now. Secondly my tac officer doesn't have these issues I'm regularly seeing hits of well over 1k highest I've had so far is just short of 4k
Firstly, don't parse ground, it's really inaccurate and I've seen parses in negative numbers among many other anomalies that show they're not up to the task.
Secondly, many tac officers in my fleet and myself consistently score very high crits and standard hits above what you're describing, you just need to get yourself sorted out and understand that tacs can one shot tac drones with the right set up and a skill.
But again, never use parsers for ground work.

Even if DPS was capped, it wouldn't be a tragedy. WOW, you can't be insanely OP anymore. It hasn't happened, and I almost hope it does.

¿? Dude, thats already TOO MUCH damage. You kill everything doing 1.5k damage.. are you mad because now you need 2 shots instead of 1??

Anyways, i didnt notice anything weird. I really own with my tactical in ground and i dont even reach 1k damage, hell not even 800. My criticals are about 1k, but thats the maximum ammount of damage i deal, and i use to kill everything in 1 or 2 shots when i do a critical hit. If not, it takes me about 3-4 shots to kill someone. And i think that is already really great damage for a federation tactical.
So, a romulan toon with critical maxed, double that. I dont think anything is caped.. lol. Not really. And if it is, its very welcome, since 1,5k damage or more than that it seems to be toooooo much already.

Often in PvP I would meet another who could pack the same punch.
But as I said engineers still have that with their mines & bombs and sci's can heal. If it was the case that they brought down everyone's dps then I could live with that.

So with the cd between shot's it makes using it a waste of time & clearly there is something wrong.

I dont think u know what u talking about. Tacticals deal A LOT MORE damage than engineers or sci. Since the beginnins of times. And i tell you again, 1,5k damage is just brutal. A tactical can kill any mob 10 times faster than a engineer. In ground or space, it doesnt matter.
Now, if the problem is about mines or grenades, that i must be honest i dont have a clue. But again, even for a mine or a grenade, 1,5k is too much lol. A fully powered grenade or mine on tier 3 should make around 1k damage, meaning it will kill a group of mobs instantly. More damage than that, makes no sense and its too much. Now if you tell me that 1,5k damage is spreaded to all the targets, meaning in the end every target will receive only , lets say 200 damage, then that is another story.
But i think mines and grenades infilicts the same damage to every mob, not spreaded.

You've obviously never seen a good engineer or debuff sci then! I should also point out, that 1.5k won't "kill everything"as you claim. It will certainly kill a lot of things in one shot, but there are some npcs like heavy and elite tac drones, or the undine battle leaders which can survive that.
Btw, I've seen BOFFS do hits of more than 1.5k. Using expose/exploit as well as the right buffs and the right gear can net you some seriously high hits (think low end DHC space hit numbers and you're not that much higher). I've hit 3k as my tac once or twice, my scis can hit for 1k-1.5k surprisingly often and the engineers? Well, those mines are nuts.
The right setup when used correctly will allow a sci or an eng to keep up with the tacs surprisingly well in terms of damage.

I have done everything to work on my build apart from get out a calculator.. (although I'm tempted).
I've not been on since I wrote this as it just seems like years worth of gaming have just been destroyed. And now I'm at a disadvantage to everyone else.
As captainoblivous has said, for players who have been around since before fleets these numbers are not unusual. When I last ran CGE the eng just rolled over everything!
She made a point of running ahead and not leaving any for anyone else!
What most have been saying sounds mostly what it's supposed to be on paper.
I'm just saying it's not like that on the front line.
