Although i'm aware that ship interiors are not high on the list at the moment, I am writing to request a revision of Fed and Klingon ship interiors to be more to scale (Crew and Engineering Decks). The ginormous nature of the corridors really spoils the immersive atmosphere present on the bridge. Other ship interior locations might be nice as well (holodeck (i.e., to launch/obtain Foundry missions), shuttlebay, etc.), but fixing the scale would be such a huge improvement.

For the most part, they were scaled up to accomidate the player "Camera".
my thoughts on this are they are basic interiors but what about purchasing interior iteams
example in ultima online you can own a house that house is yours and yours to decorate as you like to include storage chests with lock downs to save gear you use and donot want in the bank, if you want to lock down bushes and other decore you can each size house ie the diferant size and class ship would have so many lock downs the bigger the ship the more locks and storage, another good idea here per say , I use the odyssey tac cruiser with the large interior there are presently more 17 stations alone on the bridge and I have 17 bridger officers they should all be on my deck there is alos a a no 2 and councilor set on the bridge my no2 and one of my ship counclers should be in their right spots its a pain when you spend time to make your crew tops and you go to your bridge and there is only 1 person there a bald headed female crewman and that's it, the ship is our home let is be that
It's really frustrating that they logic out not updating this stuff by saying "well, we regard that as something we did poorly and would rather leave it in the past and move on to something new"
And then we get a bunch of single player missions revamped 3 seasons in a row.
And yeah, yeah, "well people have to play the single player missions, the bridge is useless and they go once and never go back!"
Well yeah, they go once as a noob, see how bad it is, and never bother again. I doubt you'll find many players who, as a noob, never felt the desire to go inside their ship. We all started off wanting to use those assets, we just didn't once we gained the experience with how out of date they are.
I've made 2 really good thesis length posts in the last year describing updates to interiors to include dailies, doffing, etc that would be a lot less complex than the new stuff we're seeing released, but no one cares.
Everyone wants to see their ship and crew. If the devs did it well and made it a useful part of the game with rewards worth sitting through a loading screen (another reason they provide-- everyone complains about that loading screen as opposed to the ones between sectors when doffing or docking at a hub!?) then the interiors would be a success.
This mindset is what frustrates me most with this game. You don't just leave half done work brushed under a rug. We have enough battle zones. Fix the interiors and social zones.
I also mentioned this ages ago, but nobody seem to care about having more realistic ship interiors. So, i dont think this will ever happen. They are willing to accept a new revamped ship interior mission system but they are ok with the lack of reality of em. So at this point, who cares about ship interior missions? that is something i will never understand.

I feel the same way; thing is, I feel that way more about exploration, PvP, ship customisation, etc. Interiors are on my list of gripes, but they are pretty far down it.

Believe me, I have gripes about all of those too, but the interiors are on the top of my list for a simple reason.
This is my ship. That's why I play the game. The ship's the thing we see and use every day, the tutorial takes place on a ship (WITH A BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR THAT PUTS THE JOKE WE GET TO SHAME) and more than anything else, at the end of the day, the game isn't complete without your ship. When you come back from a tough mission, you come back to your ship and feel relief, not ESD or K7.
These things are the silent protagonists of the franchise, and for every hour I spend tinkering with mustache combinations at the tailor, I spent 2 more at work thinking about engines and consoles to try on my ship.
So how is it that I only have half a ship? Why does my ship only exist on the outside? It's such a basic first step. You buy a ship, you want to see the interior, to see what it's like inside that awesome thing you've just bought parts for, and assembled and trained crew for. Frankly, they're just neutered without interiors.
I mean seriously. This is a sci fi game. I want to have sci fi adventures. Ok, so how do I do that? I need a ship. Alright, so let me get in this ship- oh....
How many great stories just follow the ship in space and the crew on planets and just go blank in between the two? Star wars: Starts on a ship. Mass Effect: Starts on a ship. Halo: Starts on a ship. Star Trek: Starts on a ship. Wing commander: Starts on a ship. I'm sure there are many more I can't think of. It's never "the ship flies to the planet and then we cut to the heroes on the planet." The ship interior is a critical asset in this genre, and we are just in the stone age without fire and sharp sticks here.
The only change I'd wish was made was too the star ship viewer screen. When near a planet, it should show a planet or at least make the picture more than some windows 98 screen saver. Just add some nice pictures to there or nebula clouds etc, please.
And the viewscreen could show you at warp if you enter the brdige from sector space. Seriously, though, a redesigned ship interior for Feds and Klingons and Romulans - even just one set of to-scale crew deck and engineering deck - would make me really happy. Doesn't have to be beautiful, just to scale.

I don't know much about foundry missions, but maybe one inside the ship?
