Requesting "Hide" option for Special Ship Tray

suavekssuaveks Member Posts: 1,736 Arc User
Sensor Analysis has been moved to a Special Ship Tray on all Science ships - http://i.imgur.com/SvYY7xv.jpg

Special Ship Tray cannot be hidden/removed. It contains only Sensor Analysis icon, which is about four times smaller than the Tray itself.

I don't need it, I don't want it. Requesting a "Hide" option to be added, similarly to Romulan Singularity Abilities Tray, which can be hidden.

I would like a hide function as well, please.

Yes, please, away with it, there is enough UI TRIBBLE on my screen as it is. Don't need an extra tray just for Sensor Analysis.

EDIT: Or is there a command function to remove it that I'm not aware of?

I was fine with SA just in my bars. Please make this damn box something I can hide.

Yes, please. This silly tray serves no purpose and is one of the few UI features that can't be hidden.

It was clearly added solely because a few people on this forum were unable to cope with clearing a spot on their power trays for SA, but I don't see why it should be forced on the rest of us.

The fact that this window lacks a "Hide" option clearly violates their UI conventions.

Please hide/remove it, it's annoying and gives me nothing.

I have never posted in the forums before and only came because this change was poorly thought out and indeed absolutely needs to be reverted.

Make it hideable or only showing on certain tray display modes. This is a really, really badly thought out move, Cryptic. Please fix ASAP. Most of us in the four combined Reddit fleets totalling over a thousand people feel the same way, and we'll make it clear in the days to come with posts, tweets and other communications.

You can get rid of it temporarily by switching power settings view to option 3 - it makes the special tray disappear, but as soon as you switch maps, instances, or even press ESC it comes back. Still, better than nothing.

So the special trays that we ask for, such as the anniversary ship and the earlier Carrier, are still unavailable to use outside the FEs, but this pointless "special" tray is not only available but un-hideable. FAIL...

Yes please. Would love a hide function. The tray is annoying.

This must be a bug. Why should the view mode of the power levels tray affect whether the special ship tray is shown?

It's a general UI bug. You can get it to disappear temporarily by also changing the Tray from 1-4. There's going to be an issue with going back to a higher number, mind you. Say you go from 3 to 2 and try to go back to 3...you'll be at 2 with the 3rd missing. You can hit Esc twice and it will come back.

I'm glad I don't change tray modes too often.

Agreed. Sensor Analysis is now in two places on my screen, one of them without a key bind and taking up much more space than it should.

Better than hiding the tray, on the off chance something else needs to appear in it, would be the ability to remove the ability from the tray so that the tray can autohide when empty.

Thanks for the reports. I've written up and sent on both issues, the Special Ship tray vanishing when it's wanted and the inability to hide it when it's not wanted.

Hopefully it's getting fixed now that they noticed it.
