I will begin with question for DEV'S.
Why Season 9 come to fast without proper bug check , undeveloped - unfinished ?
Is it the reason of mass leave of players from STO ?
I will mention some of the problems new and old (list is long)
-Why is my Klingon toon outfit in read-only mode for last 2.5 yrs its the famous can't change outfit bug ?What is worse now all 4 of my toons (fed.rom.kling) have same problem,
- Space & Ground sets don't have visuals any more
- DOOFS in space in ground have to be set every time(day) after you log-in the game
- Undine Elite PvEs are unbalanced no one can play that (as veteran I try with best Fleet,STF,ROM.Omega & other sets)
- Undine Dison Sphere graphical fps issue
- some finished Accolades list become again unfinished (STF)
- STO economy inflation of almost everything
The result of those and other problems we have in game during the years is that PvE-PvP queue's are empty on holodeck after Season BUG 9.
Is it mass leave of players ?
Is all of that was really necessary ?
Are you really deaf-blind, or you want to shutdown the game?
After 4 years of playing STO ,there are the limits which even Star Trek fans won't stand any more, think about it.
Fellow players add your problems and thinkings about it.
In the beginning there was all and then become nothing
I AM PISSED OFF AFTER 3 YRS. I STILL CAN'T USE OR CHANGE OR DELETE OUTFIT IN 3 OF 5 OUTFIT SLOTS ON MY KLINGON TOON !
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Not to be a naysayer... but... I dont think there is a mass leaving of STO players... in fact ive seen more activity since season 9 then i have before it...
Bugs are of course a problem... but they are not earth shattering... and they are being worked on (hopefully).
Inflation happens every new season.
Every game changes, adds new things, nerfs things changes the entire way the game is played and so on and so forth... it happens... A good player will learn to adapt to it... others will compain about it and eventually deal with it... while others still will up and rage quit for a few months but eventually return...
Evolution is the name of the game... we evolve as the game does or we move on...

Well... while I believe there ARE more people around then before the release.... considering its a new season there are incredibly few around.
With season releases the server is usually overrun. But this time... its more like the release brought the numbers back en par with the numbers we had before the mass leaving that happened during season 8.
So.... my impression is still that things do not look good at all concerning player numbers.

So no, what i can see is that there is even more people in the game now then before (try to acces exchange on peak hours, even when season 8 was launched was not this sluggish).
You can outfit your toon at tailor, if you bothered to check it out (this is how visuals works now,, and it is awesome).
DOOFS are resetting because you didn't save your ships default, so every time you switch instance you are reseted to default, that is who knows what on your toon.
third is just stupid to comment, there is no bugs (well no game braking bugs) and everything is working fine, you just need to use your brain, and actually listen and read what you need to do.
i dont know nothing about accolades as i dont care for them, i will have to trust on your word.
economy, really you are ******** about economy, if it is to expensive to buy it on exchange, by it for dilitium, or for $$.
while i maybe sound like TRIBBLE now, you sound like a child that don't enjoy playing this game, and maybe you should find some other game that suit your needs better. as this one will not change only because you are asking it to change.
and i for one am very pleased whit changes that are done to this game whit the new patch.
-The sets do have visuals they are just in the tailor now.
-I haven't experienced the BOFF thing, so I can't comment on it.
-Haven't done the elites so I can't comment on them either
-Never really paid much attention to accolades
-Inflation happens in this game. As the supply drops the price goes up there is nothing unusual about that.
Nesomumi the exchange is bugged and is sluggish no matter the time of day. After all given the international nature of the game what is "peak" time in it.
The only really bad thing for me, is that the Undine space zone is always REALLY laggy. Also today, there was hardly anyone online. The space zone was empty, and channels I have were dead.
People is finally realizing that cryptic is doing everything they can to destroy the game. So i guess they leave before the hecatom its here lol.
With the actual graphic fps issue and the invisible weapons bug, it is the final step to make people stop playing. I dont think cryptic have the skills to upgrade the game engine, so i will say that STO will be alive until 2015, more or less.
But i guess this is what cryptic wanted since almost a year or a year and a half, when they started to do stupid things, not listening to the players and not worrying about fixing all the fails in the game (but people already knew that, even if they kept saying "nah, they will fix everything eventually, its another game with the same bugs than any other game... hahahah!!".
I already knew this, so i am not surprised, but people should be prepared for the worst.
I'm not sure how many more people you want packed into the battlezones. Both before and during the dilithium weekend. Even in other locations I get frame by frame due to server overload. I don't think I've seen more people in game.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
For the love of...... I feel sorry for Cryptic in a way, although I disagree with some of the things they've done over the years this update has been a pretty good one with an ace FE and good STF's which are challenging. They are far from impossible, just require a bit of thought and a coordinated team. If you're having problems finishing them I suggest you find a good fleet and stop pugging all the time as I have absolutely no issue with them (even the grav wells with the goo).
Stop yelling DOOOOOOOM people are leaving the game DOOOOOOOOOM!!!! Every season update we go through the same rants because there are a couple of bugs which are more of a nuisance than anything else. I'm enjoying the game much more now than I have in the last few months so please, give them a break and wait a week or two for the major bugs to be ironed out.

if it is mass leaving of players i am guessing photonic fleet and photonic people are everywhere!
and if there is a mass leaving of people, why aren't people giving me their stuff?

Because you are leaving as well, just give it time. If things goes as they are now, and they dont change, 1 year is what you have.

Well, i did notice a decrease in the population. A lot, actually. Now i am playing more hours than usual, because i have time, and i dont see too much people around, not the same ammount as a couple of weeks ago. Anyways, its common sense. If people cant play, i dont think they will waste more hours in the game, lol, it will the opposite, i presume.
Wait and see what happens after those who can be bothered to fin tier 5 8472 and get the gear they want.
But yeah more than half my fleet are inactive and have been for months even with season 9 and the Que time for missions is that long i cant be bothered.
The list of bugs is just no visuals on shields, weapons on forward facing cam on some maps, when changing maps tray messed up, ships kit ends up back in inventory which make life very hard when u start a mission with no shields, warp core or engines, that's just a few that i have encountered since season 9.
Because you are leaving as well, just give it time. If things goes as they are now, and they dont change, 1 year is what you have.
you're not much fun at parties are you...
this season i think is better then season 8. for starters, balance is moving in the right direction for once (with the exception of one or two areas) and the only critical bug is that some of us STILL cant trade in our fleet kit for the new one. however, i'm not about to start crying and pretending to leave the game over it. the only thing worthy of leaving over is the existence of the undine lockbox. which shouldnt exist and we all know it.
also if you're having trouble with the undine missions being too hard, stop trying to do them. they are designed for endgame content. meaning if you are still lacking set/fleet gear, it will be very hard for you.
some of us have been playing for 3 years, and are getting tired of content so easy my newly leveled character in a defiant can tank them. not every mission is scaled for you, some of us want a challenge, and if you cant do it, then stand aside and let the professionals handle it.
change isnt bad people. just because it isnt what you expected doesnt make it wrong. cryptic isnt making the game for YOUR personal entertainment. there are thousands of players, which means stuff has to be worked on for everyone, not the minority.
- some finished Accolades list become again unfinished (STF)
Actually, I believe that is working as designed; because once Season 7 came out certain costume unlocks tied to the accolades weren't quite working right.
Now that the accolades are fixed, it means those of us who have raised toons through T5 Omega can use all the Task Force Omega Costume Options.
i pity the fool that complaints in each and every thread, yet is still playing or lurking around on the forum. Sure the game has issues, but looking back at the beginning, the game is way better now. Only PVP still sucks, or even sucks more than before.
If you have enough of this game, take a break...if you come back after that, good for you...if you don't, good for us.
But yeah more than half my fleet are inactive and have been for months even with season 9 and the Que time for missions is that long i cant be bothered.
Yeah even the "All of my fleet left/inactice" - Talk is getting old by now ... been hearing that for ~2 years now as well ... if all of these fleets are inactive for ~2 years, my guess would be - nobody cares ...
... or MAYBE ... some crazy thought, here ... Fleets being disbanded, new Fleets growing etc, is just a regular thing, like in every other MMO I've played over the years ....
Patch Notes : Resolved an Issue, where people would accidently experience Fun.
Perhaps the forum should add a new feature: Whenever someone uses "mass leaving" or departure the title should automatically be changed into "DOOOOOOOOOM vs.X.x
To be honest it's getting ridiculous.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Yeah, really... as a counterpoint, I've seen several peeps who have been inactive for a long time around!

Okay since this is a bug list, and pretty much a lot of those bugs you listed have been reported in the actual proper forums and the fact this is a doom thread (which we have plenty of) I'm going to close this thread.
And no, there isn't a mass exodus of players :P
