Where to get Kit Modules

arivlackarivlack Member Posts: 4 Arc User
In the announcements about the kit revamp, it says that you can buy kit frames and modules from ground vendors for energy credits, but I can't find any that sell the modules. Does anyone know where I can buy modules for energy credits?

he's got a point the patch notes state:

◦Basic Common-quality Kits and Modules are available from Ground vendors for Energy Credits

so where are these vendors? it kind of sucks I have the new kit from the featured episode but cant/wont use it because this vendor is MIA

According to the release notes, the modules are supposed to be available for energy credits, but I haven't seen any for EC. I've only seen them in the dilithium store. That really sucks if you're a Romulan, because Romulans can't even earn dilithium at lower levels. I bought a kit for my Centurion that has no modules and I can't buy any modules for him because I can't leave the Tau Dewa sector block and there's no way to earn dilithium in the Tau Dewa sector block for starting Romulans. So, way to go Cryptic. You really screwed over Romulan players with that one.

I know for sure there's a vendor in DS9 that sells them. Not sure where else, as I haven't been looking for them in particular.

Making an important asset only available to the highly limited currency is classic Cryptic. People mustn't be converting Zen to dil enough.

I only managed to get a module for my Romulan because I transwarped to ESD and beamed to the Academy and did a lore mission for dilithium. Thanks for the hassle, Cryptic.

Have you tried those NPC who sell normal kits so far? Like one selling hypo?

Don't worry. Vendors will start selling kit mods soon.

The New borg assimilation mission rewards a class specific purple XI kit & module on replay.

If u wish to get rich ... that's the item to "farm" at this time ....

EC Prices are ridiculous on the exchange for these items currently, and the dil-shop does not have these items.

    EDIT ... this mission http://sto.gamepedia.com/Mission:_Assimilation

Really, the whole kit system is borked right now, as is usually the case when Cryptic releases "new and exciting" features. Not only do none of the normal ground equipment vendors I've tried sell the modules, but the kit modules themselves also require the wrong rank. IE: MK II gear is Lt. gear, but the kit modules require Lt. Cdr. MK IV is Lt. Cdr. gear, but the MK IV kit modules require Cdr., and so-on. On the plus side, I do like the "build your own kit" nature of it, I just wish they would have worked out the kinks prior to release.

I guess we have to do what we usually do and wait for Cryptic to get this TRIBBLE sorted out. It would be amazing if they had a server where they could actually test this stuff before they release it. Oh, that's right, they do. Now, if only they'd use it.

Yes, multiple ones. (I know that question wasn't directed at me, but I'm answering) The ground equipment vendors selling stuff for EC on the Romulan Flotilla, New Romulus Command and ESD all don't have kit modules. They currently only sell the frames.

FYI ... for lower level Kits and modules ... Run around Nimbus III and kill Scorpions ... They drop dozens of them, a lot of white and green ones, but the occasional Blue drops as well ...
Oh, hoho hohhhhh, Oh,, hoho, hohhhhh

I just bought all the good ones (non-rep based) off the exchange.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

The patch notes on Tribble say that they're adding them to every vendor that sells kits in the next patch, so this is a problem that will solve itself in a few days.
