Downtime often throws a monkey wrench into everyone's plans. I was luckily able to finish my challenge mission on the deadline, I'm sure we'll be starting up the voting period sometime after reviewing gets turned back on.
So, what is everyone's next Foundry project? What can we look forward to from all the great authors out there?
My next project is called "Sympathy for the Devil"
This will be a Fed mission that will introduce a new recurring villain for future missions of mine: Major Rakal. But wait, you say, Major Rakal is a canon character, how can you use her? Well, she was never actually shown on screen. All we saw was Troi impersonating her. In my mission you'll find out how she survived, how she made it to 2410 and what her plans are. It will also be a direct sequel to another of my missions: "Land of Hope and Glory"
Scripting is done, also have a lot of work done on the maps, so this one is pretty far along.
Impressive how you guys all seem to have titles before you start. That's always the last thing I do.
It's hit or miss. I often use song titles, as you can probably tell. Sometimes I have a title in mind early in the process, sometimes because the title was part of the inspiration for the story. Like with my KDF spotlight "Raktajino in a Jar" (Metallica cover) or my fed mission "Somewhere in Time" (Kamelot) where I based the plot as well as the title on the song. But sometimes the mission comes before the title, like my contest mission. I made the mission and then looked through my playlist for something that might describe a Mirror Universe mission and came across Blind Guardian's "Straight Through the Mirror."
I've restarted work on Orders - Part III (the last of the series). Got the two parts up before the downtime started, and now I need to play some catch up on this mission so I get it out in a timely fashion!
I'm working on building the primary map to a new mission. Working title is Dark Side of Vulcan. Probably will be a 2 or 3 part series. First part deals with a murder on Vulcan, and you play Sherlock Holmes.
"Emendatio Erratarum Veterum" (loosely translated, "Righting Old Wrongs"). Deconstruction of VOY via applying how people are more realistically going to react to Janeway's TRIBBLE. Exploration expedition into the Delta Quadrant through the Dyson spheres turns into an attempt to fix some of the damage Janeway did to the Federation's reputation.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
I haven't had a chance to do much in the Foundry yet. But once I do, I'll be going back to work on "Valley of the Shadow III", specifically its 4th map. The map itself is already done (it's actually a reuse of the city map from Part I); I just have to add NPCs and a story to it. Then the real hard work begins - I still have to determine just what I need in the 5th map (a custom interior) and design it accordingly.
I'll also build the intro dialogue for "Twilight of the Gods, Act I" (my planned KDF trilogy) which I have already written up on paper. Though this trilogy takes place mainly in Qo'noS's distant past, I've written the intro for 2410, to refer to the Undine conflict and the end of the Klingon-Federation war. However I won't start working on that mission in earnest until VotS3 is done, which may not be until well into the summer months.
Got to work on "Sands of Gornar," having to put aside my FED mission until the Oddy Uniforms come out since I want it up to date with the current game.

I'm about to start work on an untitled Season 9 Undine Fluidic Space mission. It sounds like a lot, but I'm also trying to create a custom Captain Nicholas Martin, the NPC contact that gives you the Borg missions for use in the mission as an ally during the mission. It'll tie in with all the Undine content so far.
What I SHOULD be working on: In The Shadow of the Sun, pt 2 of the Red Eclipse series. But seeing as I am having storyline issues, I have decided to distract myself with RUINS a fed mission which involves you responding to an emergency hail from, of all things, a Borg cube under attack from Undine ships during your flight back to Earth to attend a security meeting of Starfleet Command.
After the battle you board the damaged cube to ascertain what, exactly, the Undine were so desperate to stop, only to discover that the Borg have managed not only to open rifts into fluidic space large enough to send several probes laden with heavy chronotron explosives, but have also managed to adapt Iconian gateway technology for use of destroying all non-Borg life in the galaxy long before it becomes a threat. You destroy the cube and head home
only to find that Earth has been decimated for over 4,000 years. As has Qonos, Romulus, Vulcan, and all other planets heavily involved in the Borg Wars.
Now its up to you to find a way to make things right, and it just might take the help of an old firend

I hope you're writing it with the intent of "We play winner," not something stupid like, oh, "Let's help out the Borg."

Oh now . I am never that straightforward . I try to plan out a how am I going to get out of this moral dilemma? Sitting back and waiting one side to wipe the other out before swooping in and cleaning up the mess may be a very Klingon way to handle things but potentially eliminating an entire sentient species, enemy or not, should give a Starfleet Captain something to think about.
The change to 2410 has wrecked my original plan for Eclipse #3: "Still Untitled", but I think I have worked out the kinks in the story by tossing in a very classic science fictiony twist. So I should be starting working on part 3 very soon. That is, if I'm not swamped by my day-to-day work.

Was working on "The Weak will Perish"
Spell checking "Mirror Wars"
Still the downtime ended up being much shorter than I expected. Careful Cryptic, you're going to spoil me.

I will be starting the third part of my series, A Quiet Rebellion, quite soon!

Parallels: my second mission for Fed aligned Romulans.
