Ok, so I think a piano, or a band might be appropriate. I don't think pool or poker are, but I might be ok with having a game or two in there. (it shouldn't be a full arcade though) The main issue with that, is that we aren't going to get any programmer time to actually make minigames, and so they would just be set dressing, which I foresee causing a ruckus.
I don't want this to be a very stuffy, up tight place, but it shouldn't be a dive either. It should be a relaxing, classy, cool club. I have no problem with this being a pseudo restaurant where officers might get some food as well.
Dark, warm, rich, more saturated colors. Softer materials. Interesting Lighting (but not Disco)
this was my original type of thought on the type of decor and atmosphere, the first one fits exactly what i was thinking, the second one is too bland, the 3rd one is just an eye sore of red, the last one is a color overload.
i write that because you dont want to make your nice looking club look like something cheap, it shouldnt overload the senses and cause headaches and what not, the first one has the right amount of color what it should.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
The Captain's Table (from lore) is supposed to be just another door. I don't think a turbolift would be right. It would feel like it's taking you to another part of the station, but in reality it's taking you between dimensions?
Idea. It would take a little extra work, but I think it would be worth it.
Add a few (not many, 3 or 4 would be more than enough) random small generic conference rooms to ESD.
And then hook up a pseudorandom chance that the doors to one of those will take instead you to the Captain's Table.
Better yet, make it a pattern, or something linked to the server time's minute (0-19 = door #1, 20-39 = door #2, etc), or something else predictable by people who pay attention. Hell, link it to a special named NPC who walks around the map, and whichever of the doors he/she is closest to is the one that goes there. (Or a light on a panel by the door, or the door opening by itself, or a sound effect, or the door changing color, or...???)
Dimensional shenanigans. The lore is that starship captains know how to find it. I don't believe (never having read many of the books) that it necessarily said it was always in the same place.
Again, I don't expect us to have 100 tracks to go through. We MIGHT be able to get 3 or 4 out of the Audio team. So having a way for players to "pick" a song between 3 options, seems pointless to me.
Personally I don't care about being able to choose a song.
If the audio team can come up with a couple new songs that are randomly rotated in the club that would be great. Also, if they can come up with that, can the new songs be hooked up to federation starbases that have the dance floor unlocked?
Remember in ST3, they had a lounge on Spacedock, so Lets put our faith in the almighty overlord that is Tacofangs and he shalt deliver us from boring genericness that has no place in thine....man, ye old english hurts my brain... *fires up dragon warrior 1*

Finally, somebody with good taste in real music. Not the trash the kids listen to today.
Unfortunately, after a month or two after a new Club 47, I suspect this could be the case
