They Forget to remove the old kits, we receive new kit parts we can buy them in shops the new kit modules but we can't buy new frames also when receiving a kit in a mission where you should receive a frame or module you receive the old kit. I find this very mesi also tutorials should be updated to learn about the new kits and how to use them as well.
Didn't All Rivera say they were long finished before the new launch of season 9 ? So is this a small oversight or a bug ?
Well I would like to suggest to correct this oversight or bug as a priority 1 and clean up this oversight !!

I believe the ones in missions are a frame with only one module, I just tested this over on tribble. And they did say the old kits wouldn't be removed just unattainable if you didn't already have one. And the old fleet kits get a frame and equivilant modules if you trade them in to either embassy or spire depending on where you bought it.

They left them there for a reason. Imagine if you had bought an insanely expensive fleet kit, how would you feel if it just disappeared?
This. I also have no intention of trading my old kits for the a new one with modules. What would the benefit be? Especially with new high-end modules being so rare to come across.

even though the XI v rare from the fluidic space mission works out of a higher level than the equivilent III skill from an old fleet kit, not to mention the bonuses from the kit frame too
I believe OP is talking about missions that usually reward a kit (from the first time playthrough) are rewarding the old kits instead of the new frames.
I hope the old kits are still available in the missions, otherwise there are going to be a lot of new players not using kits because they can't find/afford modules to put in them.
What they should have done is left the old kits as they where, and set the new kits as MkXI & MkXII, and only available through the rep grind, fleet grind, Lobi & C-store.
That would lock new players off from the customization that new kits provide. Maybe having preset kits at lower ranks would be a good idea, but the new style should definitely be available much earlier than level 50. It's simply a better way of handling player abilities. Module drops don't seem that uncommon, either.
You can actually still buy the old kits (white only) at the New Romulus Command "crafting" consoles.

You are right, I said where you get a kit reward it's still be given, I talk about Mk II true Mk X. You earn at the end of the mission a kit instead of a frame or a module, also they should change the tutorials because they still telling about the old kits, not the new one....

After comparing the stats of the modules against the old kits and the fact that the EC vendors don't carry the modules, I see no reason to switch to the new frames. My alts will keep their old kits, heck I pulled an old kit off of the exchange for my new toon. At least for now I still prefer the old kits, maybe after a month or so when the exchange prices come down I will put something together, but right now it will cost more than its worth to upgrade with modules that equal the old kits that I already have.
You can have my old kits when you pry them from my cold dead fingers.
I wish I had kept all my old kits from leveling up so I could pass them on to new captains.
Getting a random (old school) kit drop that was actually an upgrade was like winning the lottery.
Now you have to get a frame with the slot configuration you need, the affixes you want, and then you have to get the modules you want. Basically you have to win one lottery to be eligible to buy a ticket to win another lottery to be eligible to buy a ticket to a third lottery.
This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Basicly anywhere you could buy ground equipment.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

I don't find this messy at all. It was necessary or people would have been left without ground skills.
As it is I've had great luck in getting modules to drop for my kits.
My only concern is for the problems with the trading in the old embassy kits. Those kits are far from equal to what we bought with hard earned labor to even get the embassy that high to buy the things. My engineer cannot get this kit module for the special flame thrower version of the plasma turret now because it's RNG when you trade it in for the new kit and the modules, what gets me is that even the modules are RNG.
If you trade an all purple kit in you need to get all purple modules for all of the slots you bought. What they did with this trade in system is criminal imo. We already bought the thing, why should we not get back what we bought?
In general, there will be a transition to the new kits over time. The game will not give the old kits, but players can still trade them via the exchange.
My only beef is that the exchange hasn't been updated to reflect the new changes.

That has to be a bug with Embassy (haven't traded in one yet) because I traded in my Squad Leader Kit from Fleet Spire and and got back the new frame and all of the appropriate modules.

No true, I started a new Romulan yesterday and the mission that gives you a kit is the new kit frame with 1 module.

Till one day they put the word "obsolete" and all the effects useless.:(

Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Yeah I know, but pay attention please, what is a module worth without a frame !!!!
Correct it's worth nothing why you need a cassete tape if you don't have a recorder, what you want with a module if you don't have a frame, get it ??

They are treated as obsolete right now. That is not the point.
