  This is indeed the case, those should be open when you are out of combat.

  Hey JamJamz I also seem to hear the Avenger Armor activation sounds when entering red alert on ships other than the avenger (fleet sovereign)... This character previously used an avenger

  Woot, thanks JamJamz. I know it's completely cosmetic, but I really do think the ablative armor that shows when you go into combat is a fantastic touch on this ship. For the first few weeks I flew it, I'd occasionally find a new area I hadn't realized was covered up before. That feeling of discovery, of "How'd I not notice that before?" was one of the biggest factors that led to me really enjoying flying this ship.
  I'm not sure how much work was involved to generate this effect, but it is one of the things I love the most about the Avenger. It's details like this that add personality and that extra special something. I hope in the future, if time permits, the ship art team will be able to continue to provide cool cosmetic touches like this.

  Stumbled across another issue I don't think was mentioned yet.
  The rear window on the Avenger saucer section (just above the shuttle bay) also always seems to always have its Ablative armor deployed.

  I know this is a major, major necro - but could someone please fix the Avenger's armor? The fore and aft saucer armor still doesn't open out of combat, and on direct x 11, the ship's lights shine through the deployed armor now. This is especially true for the type 2 and 3 windows.
