The mess that is The STO Website

I was playing SWTOR and a guildie mentioned he use to play STO and Im like yea come back its great,changed alot.

Not playing since 2010 he said ops cant remember my password sec let me reset and ill patch................. holy TRIBBLE he says talk an about a abortionate mess of loop links, dead end links, and now a manual support linking of cryptic and arc accounts, dont play till its done, with the adviosry due to high volume of tickets we will get back to you when we can....LoL .......... worst of all there is little to NO information about whats going on....

Needless to say he said TRIBBLE that to hard back to SWTOR

Then i tried the system, thinking meh gotta be user error cant be that hard,so try to reset my pass word, the email reset password link sends me to arc knowledge base ??? I log into my pw account on the sto site then have to relog into it on the forums...........

I gave up thereand then and went and played swtor with him

    Password recovery is fairly simple either through ARC or the PWE main site.

    But yeah, the new site has all of the comforts of a barbed wire fence for returning users.

    So I went to the ARC sight and clicked on Sign In on the top right. The drop down menu there has a "Trouble Signing In" link for those who forgot their Password. Clicking on that link took me to an area where I could enter my email address, verify the captcha, and then click "Recover Password." I was then sent an email with a link to enter and confirm a new Password.

    That seems about the same as every other site I have ever been on in my internet life.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    sadly its not simple atm if you try to use pwe reset the link in the reset email sends you to support knowledge base page

    its pre arc pwe account cant link to pwe until he can get into the account to link on the pwe site cant make do the arc thing on the old user email name until he can get into the cryptic login.... not so squeezy ad in the bad links its a bit messy atm

    oh and the other one was cant create an arc account as the email is in use.... but he has no arc account yet just an old cryptic login /email

    Ah, it is more of an old linking issue rather then an ARC website issue. The best thing to do is have him file a Support claim explaining the situation and see what they say. The email address is customerservice@perfectworld.com

    The game itself is much better, but holy hell the website breaks under a stiff breeze.

    Yea they need a serious overhaul for the websites.

    But at least we don't have to pay cartel coins just to get a haircut. :)

    I'm having a similar problem. I'm trying to access Manage Subscriptions to change my credit card but when I log in it tells me that my browser isn't accepting cookies and will not let me continue. I even tried lowering my settings to accept all cookies but it still says the same thing. When I try to contact support it sends me back to the same pages. I wish I could find a phone number so I could speak to a live human but I can't find one anywhere.

    i dunno what was wrong with the old website, apart from the search function never working correctly, there was not much trouble with the old site before the website techs decided to bring us this PWE thing.

    fyi i play swtor as well as sto from time to time, but as it stands as far as websites go swtor is ahead of STO in that area by quite a bit.

    Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
