If you haven't noticed, the "Investigate Officer Reports" has reappeared in our journals.
It offers these rewards for playing one foundry mission, in addition to regular Foundry rewards for qualified spotlights and non-spotlight missions (any mission with the yellow text).
960 Dilithium ore
1984 skill points
1732 XP (although 3781 was actually awarded to me)
This mission is NOT a daily. It has a cooldown timer of 30 minutes, meaning it has virtually no cooldown if you're playing a Foundry mission that has a story (instead of shieldless fish in a barrel).
So, for playing a 30-45 minute mission called "Adrift," I received the following regular plus IOR rewards that totaled:
6000 XP (plus XP earned while playing the mission)
2497 dil
1984 skill points
About 70,000 ECs, from drops discarded (It was mostly a ground mission, so the ECs were light).
Regular Foundry dilithium rewards scale with the length of the mission, from 480 to 1600ish (I forget the exact cap). The cap might be higher now. I remember it being 1440, and I got more than that for a mission that wasn't very long.
These totals may be higher for a spotlight mission. They might also be much higher with a really long mission.
Does this entice you?
If so, here is a
list of missions that many people like. The Foundry UI will not help you find a lot of missions.
Edit:
I just finished Sovereign77x's "Forget Me Not," which is a spotlight that takes half an hour to an hour to play, depending on whether or not you want to engage the enemy. I didn't fire a shot. I just read and experienced the story. With the added IOR:
3599 dilithium
6000 XP (Is it still bonus weekend?)
21,800 ECs
plus skill points
Half an hour of sneaking around like in the old game "Thief." Very fun. Thanks, Cryptic.

It does not really entice me, I'm not big on the Foundry myself.
So? I can roll up into a Voth BZ that's almost done, finish that one, and join about 2-3 more in about 45 minutes with double-triple the dilithium, not counting the daily quests.
Better yet there's no 30 minute cooldown.

IF it were higher still and gave out a worthwhile amount of rep marks then I imagine I would play them more frequently. I pretty much only use them to kill time now.

It would appear my interest in the Foundry has shifted from 0% to 100%. Funny how giving me rewards changes my opinion on whether the Foundry is worth doing again.
Better play as many Foundry missions as I can before Cryptic removes all dilithium rewards again because of exploitation, again.
Just that there actually was a massive exploit that got abused in abundance......
I won't deny that. But one of my main gripes is Cryptic keeps teeter-tottering when it comes to the Foundry rewards. One day they get me interested in the Foundry, then the next day they remove all interest I had in the Foundry.
I support UGC, but Cryptic has also given me a 'false choice' in using the Foundry to get in-game rewards.
With an emphasis on "the grind", it's just not compatable with the Foundry.
Hopefully this latest 'adjustment' with the return of officer reports will put the issue to rest and I can simultaneously enjoy UGC while not ignoring my obligation to acquire dilithium in large amounts.
But I won't hold my breath on it. People will find some way to exploit it.
The mission I played took me 45 minutes and the reward was based on average playtime. It's probably a 30 minute mission, since I had a long struggle against 3 Borg spheres in my Defiant. I also carefully read every dialogue.
I think the cap for regularly rewards might have also risen, since I remember 1440 being the cap for regular rewards. If you folks play a mission with regular rewards and the IOR, please write down playtime and numbers and share.
I may be underselling the totals, based on one mission.
The spotlights, for example, may now reward close to 3600 dilithium.
I hope it sticks around this time, there are many people that prefer a good Star Trek story rather than just mind-numbing grind.

Please share your reactions Iconians. What's good, what's bad, and how does the game and your time spent in it feel, compared to battlezones or usual means of dilithium gathering.

Cryptic has a bad habit of just not putting stuff in the patch notes.
Yo, Cryptic? We've told you once and we're telling you again: When you do something like this, would you please, pretty please with a Hathon hammer on top, frakking tell us so we can thank you for it? I would love to be able to praise you for doing stuff instead of being critical all the time, but you've got to let us know.

The lack of patch notes is particularly true in regards to Foundry. Changes to the Foundry very, very rarely show up in release notes. So, it's not uncommon. It really is kind of the norm.
I can forgive them for this stuff, since it was obviously necessary to curb exploits.
+1 each. Tis a pity the foundry doesn't have the tools Cryptic has. Nevertheless, dilithium takes precedence and foundry missions take too long.
