I think someone should call Temporal Investigations, I hate it when people take away any fun I had playing games away retroactively.

This is hardly the first time even. Man, I still remember when all my 3rd Edition D&D sourcebooks burst in flames on release of 4E, and all my positive memories where erased, leaving only the memories of attack calculation matrixes and characters repeatedly failing their best save against death effects.

The comment that made you laugh was the poster's way of saying that he isn't in any way the conforming patsy he was being labeled as. I've made the same sort of comments myself whenever I cut the devs some slack on something and I get called a fanboy. Anyone who has been active at least in reading these forums long enough yould know that I have frequently tried to rip PWE/Cryptic a new one over one issue or another.

It's not elitism to simply set someone straight that just assumes that someone is a conforming patsy when their posting history clearly demonstrates facts to the contrary.

You should probably practice paying attention to context. It may help you maintain credibility.

come off your high horse you could break your neck, the part that made me laugh had nothing to do with the op, i thought that was pretty obvious

Personally I like the changes , yes it's annoying having done all that grinding for nothing , but at least this way the gap between new players and long time players isn't quite so massive

Does it really matter who kills it?

Atari would have killed it, Cryptic IS killing it and PWE is letting them kill it... The results is the same, the question is only how long it suffers.

    Oh and also:

    DOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

lol thanks for the laugh while drinking my coffee, my favorite part of this thread is the

"you must have no idea who i am on these forums"

elitist snobs scanning forums to pour out more of their so called wisdom so they can brag how important they are in a discussion, and thinking people care in the first place... so sad

    I agree, very funny. lol

They own the game, they make the rules and they do what they want to change it in order to spruce it up or make it MORE fair to everyone as they see it. We have freewill to play or not. There are 100s of games out there, free to play or otherwise. No one forces us to play STO or any other, we choose to. We, the players cannot not say to them the owner/creators of the game, I want this or that...and then they make it so. We do have a say in what we would like, but they are not obligated to do so. They will NOT change something because we the players like it or not, no matter how many posts we make like this. We have to pretty much take what they give or leave it. I have read SO MANY posts the past couple days about players crying, whining, complaining or whatever you want to call it about the changes. Well, I am sorry you do not care for them...if you do not wish to play this style anymore, please feel free to move along. But making endless posts like this will not accomplish what you are trying to do, rile players up so there is a mass exodus. Yes, some players will post their response about their dissatisfaction and agree with OP and others will troll and say you're crying and so on, but in the end I believe these are just a waste of time and energy. Like mentioned before, adapt and learn to play a new style or try something else. I have seen it in many other games, threatrening to leave and take your friends or stopping your subscription will not force them to change back to old ways. There will always be a core group of players who will pay to play and always be a flux of new players and casual gamers coming into the game. Sorry if this makes you mad, but it's the truth and STO will not die or cease to exist any time soon. We just have to adapt and keep on playing...or move on.

i was so happy when season 9 be released but when i log inside it was a disipointment. They have deleted traits and now you can only have four traits the reputaion system is no use anymore and no fun at all then they say also that in season 10 they will play with our skills next this gam start to be like just an ohter mmo boring no fun and a slow game i wonder if perfectworld have giveing up on the players or what is wrong

i hate how perfect world has destroyed STO and wonder when the old system is comeing back that was much more fun

I played Guild Wars 1 for quite a while. It was a challenge there, to figure out what armor to wear, what weapons to use, fitting new mods on weps and armor, depending on where you were going and what you were about to do.

This game, (and I have done all the reps - on 6 toons. lol) is changing for the better. It had become, warp in, press spacebar until red dots are gone, collect stuff. Repeat.

    NO THINKING REQUIRED.

So now, before you go in, you have to pick and chose what to take, maybe lose and try again with other things, till you get it right.

In other words a challenge. I suppose that is what lies at the heart of whether you like the game or not. Do you want things easy? Or do you like puzzles that require thought? Option 2 is better for mind development.

And I do like puzzles. It's what makes things interesting. And when you do go out into the real world, expect puzzles, challenges, life is not easy either.

I just stopped reading after the second line. They need to gain profit with a VIDEOGAME. Its looks like that word doesnt mean nothing to you or cryptic. A videogame is something that makes people to feel happy, to waste time and to ENJOY what they are doing. That is a videogame. Now if a company cant maintain a balance between doing funny and enjoyable things, reasonable things AND, making money then, that company is garbaje. Period. I never seen a company like cryptic in my entire life, at least not in the past 4 years. Of course they can do watever they want, but again, this is a game. If you dont know what the "game" word means, its your problem.

    You again.

You know, there was a time when one could respect your posts and feedback. I've seen you on here for some time and most of the time, you had something to contribute to a discussion.

Lately though, you are acting like a twit. You just bash and bash people who are voicing criticism about the rep system. Just because someone is against the change, doesn't mean they "know jack TRIBBLE". Yes, perhaps the OP and subsequent posters could have articulated their concern a touch clearer, they're concerns are valid, as are your disagreements.

Contribute something or don't. Just please don't post when you have nothing to say or just want to be a jerk.

A challenge seriously now, are you serious. I choose my the 4/4/4 and still run over content on Elite and play hard hitting PVP still.

Choose the best 4 space traits, forget about the rest, make all personal traits space related other then strike specialist or soldier for ground combat.

You'll neve have to touch the trait system again. Get reps to tier 5 other then the new one, never have to touch that again. Then start a fleet, get all fleet weapons and sets from the original four Rep system.

Where is the choice in that? It's still a no brainer.

Exactly what i was talking about in other posts.

And if we talk about the personal traits, that is the most stupid non brainer thing cryptic did. You just need to put all your space traits or ground ones, and thats it. No brain needed. Since you will have all your space traits for space fights and you can switch to all your ground traits and forgot about the space ones lol. Well, maybe you will not be able to slot all the space traits, but im sure 90% of em. That is really focused on non brained people i dont think cryptic has that impression of the players, do you? lol.

Besides i dont want anyone to give me free skills like candies, i want to earn em, i want to develop em, i dont want to have all of em at my disposal because im superman and i can do everything i want. Dunno if u know what i mean.

This last season is focused on do things with a couple of mouse clikcs. And it is getting worst, sigh.

The correct analagy would be you have 2 cars but you can only drive one at a time. You have to decide if you want to take the SUV or the sporty 2 seater.

NOTHING WAS TAKEN You just have to decide which passives you need for a mission.

I am waiting for the thread for someone to demand all 32 passives. It has to be coming.

just face it the game is not for trek fans any longer it is for casual short term players new to the game. they see this neat stuff spend some money realize its dead end and leave. making room for the next new person.

as far as a business goes its a good model. focus on the people that spend the money, new people. long time players already spent their money so why cater to us anymore.

I normally play 6 to 8 hours a day while the kids are at school. since Tuesday maybe an hour a day. and not enjoying that hour even. its not the rep system changes, personally my ship hit harder now with my build. its that every since S7 its been going downhill, and now the war is over as a Klingon I am losing interest in the ONLY game that I Play.

this is all i need to read to know you havnt a clue who i am on these forums.

the op's complaint is foolish, blinkered and short sighted, for not realising there needed to be a limiting factor on the new traits. or not only would established players would be flat out superior to newer players for no reason, but would also antiquate the content thats designed for players in a given power band.

that you dont seem to see this either is a failing of your own mental abilities, and lack of understanding of game design.

    so whine on their forum

Not that I disagree with you in principle (though i am nuclear pissed about the rep change, myself)...

But powercreep was never about the rep passives anyway. The two biggest culprits are still out there - Fleet gear and the entire romulan faction (warbirds, megacrit, stupid pointy ears, the fact i have four of them, etc.). (for perspective on this, equip an elite fleet shield, youve just blown away ANY of the rep defense passives... for another example, toss a couple spire fleet consoles on, rom tier 2 doesnt look so "op" now does it?)

Reps dont hold a candle to those two.

should learn to comprehend what you read . I never said it was not trek. I said it was not for trek fans.

trek is something different for us all. all the different species, different time lines, different eras, different factions and the list goes on. so no single game can cater to all trek fans. some may like it some may not.

I do not say anybody should leave, what somebody plays is up to them. im also not bashing the company, how they make their money is up to them.

I still play the game just not nearly as much as I did the week before. and I haven't played as much in the past few months as I used to play 1 year ago or the year that.

Sorry to dissapoint you but PWE is not the one who is breaking the game. Cryptic is.

Wasn't it Cryptic's bright idea to go F2P (or, to be more accurate, P2W)? And there was a year-long drought. In fact, they took forever to get their **** in order and sign contracts to keep improving the game. OH, didn't Cryptic decide to say good bye to FEs? After this series that will be it. FOREVER.

PWE just bought the company. The company itself had issues already.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

Are you kidding right?? 1 hundred percent rek?? are you dreaming?? that was 4 years ago, when the game was on beta state looool. :D, maybe you dont know star trek as well as you think (i know i dont), because right now, its not even 70% star trek. And that is too much already for me to say it.

Sorry but being a f2p doesnt mean they dont have the skills to make a great game respecting the players and mainatining a balance between gaining money and keep the players happy. You are really naive.

Cryptic is the one, the whole team who decides what things to do and what things to avoid. They are going to provide pwe with money no matter what they do, thats not the problem of pwe. PWE doesnt even know on what the hell is workin cryptic right now. Well, of course they need to know some basic things, but they are never telling cryptic what they need to design, or how they need to code the game.

    For you to understand->

PWE - Cryptic, please we need money, so we dont care what you do , but we need money at the end of the day.

CRYPTIC - Ok, as you wish sir.

The problem is, the customers are there, they exist, and a videogame is based on their customers. If this relation doesnt work, well, you can imagine what happens, right? you see it every day on the forums.

And of course cryptic had issues, im telling you since 3 years ago. But they didnt do anything to improve things, on the opposite. Its like if they are doing every thing possible to keep the players away. lol. Well, if they keep pushing they are going to make it lol.
