Let's talk about the Undine Ground Battlezone...

Or more accurately, let's talk about the lack of an Undine Ground Battlezone.

On a personal level, the Voth Ground Battlezone introduced in Season 8 was one of, if not the best additions to the game. A persistent ground map for a large number of players, where Boffs were actually used/useful in an endgame ground "mission". It was fun, and rewarded well.

And I dare say i'm not alone in this feeling.

Given what we got in Season 9 - more specifically, an Anti-Undine Reputation which includes a myriad of Anti-Undine ground weapons, and a revamp of ground kits, including Anti-Undine kit powers - it boggles my mind as to why we only got one Undine ground mission (Undine Infiltration) whilst the most obvious and perhaps would-have-been well received addition would have been the Undine Ground Battlezone.

I see a lot of talk about why there's "no point" to the Undine reputation because of the powers nerf. I disagree. I think there's no point to the Undine Reputation because half of the gear is useful for one PvE queue and maybe three single player missions.

For me, the lack of the UGBZ is the big letdown of Season 9. So Cryptic. For Season 9.5, i'd humbly implore you to invest some thought into an Undine Ground Battlezone.

Yes, this is definitely missing and hopefully coming soon. Until yesterday I wondered what I should do with all the new ground things that are designed for the fight against the Undine, if there is just one mission, where you meet them. OK, the featured episode contains Undine on the ground, also the revamped Borg/Undine missions. I will replay them a couple of times for the rewards, yes, but what then? When I have my anti-Undine ground set, what will I do then (except looking marvelous)?

Ok, I'll bite. I did the spacezone once yesterday. It was ok, but it can't touch the voth ground zone. After playing with the new stuff a bit I'll definitely go back to the voth. Somehow a battlezone works better on the ground. I'm a space person so that's saying a lot. So, yeah, I'd love to see an undine ground in the model of the voth.

I did the space zone and found it a tad annoying. Mainly to do with the slide show it goes to when dealing with the planet killers. Other than that I did enjoy it. I agree a ground zone would be great too, I loved the Voth one, which surprised me. When I have the time it is my go to time killer for fun, other than the dailies I forget that I even got marks for it.

Come on Cryptic give us a ground zone too.

This prompted me to fix it even further:

Yeah, one with giant octopusses that have mortars on their heads and laz0rs on their tentalces! And the "boss" would be a giant squid with harpoons in it's tentacles.

    Take that Season 8!

Surely it'd be a giant squid that has a special attack that sprays ink over everyone.

And to kill it you must throw harpoons at it's tentacles.

If they had a Borg battlezone instead of dinosaurs or Undine, that would be sweet. Imagine taking over a Cube or something. The Undine fought the Borg, right? So just plot in a Borg thinger somewhere and call it the Undine battlezone!

Undine, I don't really care about because Voyager was not my favorite amongst the series.

Bring back the Borg! Bring back the Borg!

    Who is with me?! :D

I agree. I liked voth ground battle, but was really disappointed when it became clear that there was no undine ground battle. Thatt he voth ground battle is still there is illogical: they where crushed bij de undine...

I would love an undine groundbattle..

having endgame ground content that let me use my bridge officers was something I really appreciated about the Voth battlezone. It was a great incentive to have more than one of ground sets, and gave a reason to use ground-trait heavy bridge officers. The Voth battlezone just had a lot more content in general too. The ability to call in reinforcements would be great for holding territories. Right now the Undine can just waltz in and take over territories any time they want. I also miss the minibosses, the enemy variety, and the ability to go rooting around for voth data files. Plus all the capture points look very samey after a while. At least in the Voth battleground you have three rather different terrain types.
