Broken Costume Slots - Fix It Already!

azyurionazyurion Member Posts: 168 Arc User
Problem : Costumes slots become invalid, or broken (often after patches) and cannot be swapped, even at a Tailor.

I have been dealing with this issue on just about everyone of my characters for far too long. I've even submitted bug reports in game. Yet, I've never seen any evidence that this very real bug is being worked on for a future patch.

The worst part about these invalidated costumes is that they cannot simply be deleted. So, players end up with multiple saved costumes which cannot be used, or reset.

It's long since past time for this issue to be patched. This directly impacts player satisfaction and needs to be bumped up the priority list.

well its happened to me as well but then i saw i have again 5 unused tailor slots so i re-created and loaded in my saved outfits and so i could wear em again

only problem is i have 5 extra entry in the list thats simply not working and takes sum space :P if that is all for everyone else, maybe a delete option in at the tailor could simply fix this //if that simple that is//

hope it halps mah fellow kdf bros

note: if you are able to press the 'create' button again do so while u picked on that existing preview icon that u wanna re-create otherwise u may only able to operate with 'uniforms' only

The best I can advise is to save all costumes from the main slot 1, this way when you use a newly created slot you can simply load the costume to apply it to that slot.

Pretty much what I came here to post about, actually.

I tend to play this game on and off. I came back to try out this current season (which is decent, actually) but like, there is something seriously wrong with my KDF Orion and Alien captains' costume slots.

This is one of those inexcusable bugs that really needs to be fixed, and fast.

I have this with my KDF Trill, she's not my main so I haven't been tracking it that closely. She has had 3 costume slots become unusable, but I noticed yesterday that I have gained slots. I guess I should be grateful that at least this bug has a work around as it probably won't be fixed if the Marauder tailor bug is any indication (the thread in my signature is 2 years old next month).

What I also find inexcusable is that I submitted a GM request ages ago and never heard back. Even a simple "Sorry, I can't help, it's bugged for now" would have been something.

GMs don't respond to bug reports, so I wouldn't expect a reply.

But yes, this issue needs to be addressed. Badly.
You're right. The work here is very important.

I am a few days away to stop playing this game. Just saying.. my monthly sub is going to stop if i dont see a real point of interest from the devs to fix all this issues. I really dont have hopes, so, sadly the only game of star trek i like will be the last.

You people complain a lot, but im sure you keep paying your monthly subscription or buying lots of zen everywhere. Then, dont ask cryptic to fix bugs, since they wont. If they dont need to.. y they should? it cost more work, a lot of time_(bugs like this should not cost a lot of time, but...) and sure, they will say more money. So, they prefer to post for sale new ships, new stuff for new idiotics event like the winter one, and almost everything they do is focused to gain cash from users. Then, they promote a duty officers pack with a new ship, and everyone is buying dozens of duty officers packs only to be able to get that ship. Just pathetic. Welcome again, unsatisfied players. Now this post will be deleted, again. True words hurt a lot, i know. If rich people keep paying insane ammounts of money every month, those fixes will never arrive. You people should get used to it.

I keep playing and finding bugs everywhere, not only in the taylor. This game is becoming unplayable. Then, they fix mission bugs, but they make those missions impossible or not worthy to play, good job cryptic.

I will not expect cryptic to take a look at the taylor (one of the important things of the game... ), and day by day , the bugs are growing, and one could think that cryptic already gave up on the taylor (actually they never "gave" up, since they never started to do anything), as other things that are broken for ages since i understand.

Yes i have same problem. I suspect it happens only for players who bought more costume slots (paid zen! At least i did and i have this problem), as probably not all players did this is and this is not global problem and they don't hurry to fix it or even didn't detected it.

Far as i understand in new season was some new changes with costumes data structures which just somehow don't match previous data and some validation algorythm says then it's wrong.

I tried many things, to totally change costume, change its type (like uniform, offduty and etc..) to randomize everything many times & etc... but still not found any working solution, still getting this problem which is really very very annoying. It works ok only on characers which costumes i didn't tried to change at new season time.

Basically you pay zens to get more slots and u get not working feature for this...

    P.S.

Agree with people, then delete costume feature should help, of course if after this you can create new costume again. Please fix this thing or give some workaround! This is important MMORPG genre games factor to be able to look unique, which this bug removed from game...

Some people may consider this Necroposting, but I'm new and cant create a thread yet(Why theres a Newb section when Newbs cant create threads is a mystery to me..), so I had to dig up one that most matched my problem. That and I think this is still an unresolved issue..

I wanted to make an OffDuty outfit, but the game wouldn't let me. there was a Big Red X over the Off duty square and it said I had to join a fleet. well, I'm in a fleet now, but the Offduty box is magically gone, so I STILL cant create an OffDuty outfit...

I grazed over this thread and i looks like the players have come up with a work around, but wouldn't it just be easier if the Devs just fixed the problem? hasn't the game been out long enough for this issue to be resolved yet?

It seems to me that the majority of posters here are lucky as far as I'm concerned.

I've got similar issues (not being able to modify costumes) on both my KDF characters, but the real mind-boggler for me is the fact that I only have 5 costume slots for my main (and oldest) FED character. My other characters have gotten all the extra slots somehow, why didn't my main character get them?

At this point I seriously doubt that issuing a ticket for either bug will solve anything
I hope I'll be proven wrong. Can't blame a guy for hoping, right?

Tickets are another way to make the players feel "safe" or happy because they think cryptic is taking his problem seriously. But again, its just another strategy, thats all. And of course, a waste of time. Cryptic will ignore most of em (probably the ones that has nothing to do with the gameplay, but with cash and billing problems).

Are you trying to create an Off-Duty outfit from costume slot 1? If so, that's your problem, as only Uniform can be selected for that slot. Slot 2 is for anything, and slot 3 opens up when you join a fleet, but again, any type of clothing category can be selected for it.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I still have this issue; I have two slots at the end of my costume list that I cannot use, rename, or modify at all.

I know for a while this was in the "known issues" area of the patch notes, so I assumed when it was removed it was fixed, but at least for me, it isn't.

Is there any fix anyone knows of, or is this just an issue that can't be fixed?
